We are new dvc members. In the past we have always booked a pkg thru aaa so we have never purchased annual passes Member services say we can purchase them 1 at a time if we want and they are not activated til the 1st time we use them and would then be good for a yr Has anyone ever done this?

I'm not a DVC member but I would assume it would be just like the other ways of getting an AP. If you buy them over the web, phone or Disney Store you get a voucher that you activate at the park and that will start your 365 days. The only place where it gets immediately activated is if you purchase it at the gate. Thats my understanding at least

Where can I get these DVC discounted passes?
Passes can be purchased online by visiting http://dvcmember.com, by calling Member Services or at any Guest Relations location at all Theme and Water Parks and Downtown Disney. These tickets will not be available at any Resort Lobby Concierge locations. If purchased via http://dvcmember.com or Member Services, Members will receive an Exchange Certificate Voucher. If purchased on-site at Guest Relations, Members will receive the activated Annual or Premium Annual Pass.
