I am trying to decide if i should buy annual passes or not. I have 2 trips planned. With a total of about 20 days. If buy the passes in Sept 2007, then i could get atleast one more trip in 2008, maybe 2. What are the upsides & downsides of the pass?

I always end up spending more $ when I have an Anuual pass. I squeeze in an extra trip or 2

We just bought AP's this last November and so far have not found a single downside. Upside - free parking, we have timeshares in Orlando so we stay off-site. Discount on the DDE card (20% discount on food/beverages - including alcoholic beverages in certain restaurants); AP offers 10% discount at certain restaurants, also discounts on merchandise at certain shops.

Just booked a room for one night at POFQ using AP room discount.

If you are going more than 10 days, or more than one trip, then IMHO, the AP is the way to go. We went in November for 6 days, going this coming Jan. for 6 days, back again in Feb. for 7 days, then back again in early November for another 7 days. Plus, when it's time to renew, we'll get a discount for renewing!

I have been an annual passholder for many years and I never could find a down side on why not to have it.
For the upsid eof it;
-You get the passholder discount at the hotels.
-You get a discount at Downtown Disney.
-You can go to Disney as many times as you want in a year and not worry about buying a ticket.
-The price of 2 - 10 day hopper passes will cost you more then 1 annual pass.

Oh I just figured out the downside, the annual price is higher then a 1- 10 day pass. so you are putting the higher price out now, instead of buying passes twice.

Really there is no downside, if you are going more then once in a year, it will save you money.

I agree that there is not a down side to having AP's:banana:. We have had them for years and they have saved us a bundle:thumbsup2. We like to go at least two, if not three, times a year so this is the most cost effective way for us!:)

I only buy annual passes, with six month breaks between them -- i schedule two trips (minimum) a year, so I get three trips out of my pass (i.e. November, April and October trips) and then I purchase my next pass before my next spring trip and start the cycle again. I love it! :goodvibes
