Did anybody get an AP voucher that is bright green plastic? It looks really cheap and the first time I saw it I said to myself, "I spent $403.64 for this?" Did anyone else feel that way when their voucher came in the mail?

I believe that's what our vouchers were like. We purchased ours at the Disney store and I'm almost certain they were plastic. We actually thought they were kinda cool because they weren't paper tickets :)

Wait until you see the tickets! They are still using paper tickets for AP!

Yes...I couldn't believe it when I saw that they were trading the nice durable plastic card for a piece of paper!!!! We just used our APs for the first time in Nov and after just those 8 days they are looking a little worn. And my brother had a 7 day hopper that was plastic...how does that make sense?

What in the heck is up with paper AP's? I just spent $531 on a paper PAP - but they screwed up my room reservations so many times that we had over 30 keys made for 6 people! They made them like they were going out of style! Meanwhile, my MVMCP tickets were hard plastic (and had different character on them) - why can't AP's be like that?

Has there been any more discussion on this topic?

I was just going to post what others said as well. If you think that bright green plastic voucher is cheap wait until you get the actual AP. It is a paper material. There is a specific name for the paper that is supposedly durable. But, I have had to have mine replaced several times over the years because the have gotton wet. Once you get the paper one, you are going to be wishing for the green plastic one!

Here's what Anita from allears.net had to say:

"Paper annual passes (AP) are less expensive to produce than the plastic ones, and less expensive to replace when lost or destroyed. They are printed on strong coated paper, and are difficult to wear out. I have a friend who estimates that his AP went through a turnstile 350 times last year and it was still fine until it expired. If you take minimal care of your pass, it will last the entire year. It's a good idea to store your pass in the special sleeve that it comes in, so that you can't accidentally de-magnetize the strip on the back. Always keep your purchase receipts in case you have to replace a pass.

Not all Hopper passes are encoded on plastic card stock. The passes purchased at The Disney Store are plastic, as well as those encoded on the same card that is used for a guest's resort room key, which must be strong enough to be used in the electronic door locks. Hoppers purchased at park Guest Relations will be printed on the same paper stock as your Annual Pass."

Hope this helps!!!!!
