I need some advice.....I was under the impression that I could buy my APs on line, use the voucher number to link to MDE, then have the ability to reserve Fastpasses for my May trip. Of course I don't want to activate my APs until the first day of our trip, so that I can squeeze 3 trips on 1 AP. I was just told there's no way I can get FPs until I activate the AP. What is the difference between buying a ticket on line (and being able to reserve FPs), and buying an AP on line? I have to PAY for either of them, and the tickets aren't activated until I walk through the gate the first time. I guess I'm ignorant, but I see no difference.... :rolleyes1

Link the AP voucher number to your MDE account and a 30-day FP Booking window will appear. You'll have a 60-day window when you are 60 days out from an onsite stay.

Your AP becomes active when you activate it at a Ticket Window when you reach WDW.

Thanks! I called back because I REALLY didn't think the CM I was talking to knew the correct answer. The new CM confirmed that I COULD link the voucher number to MDE, make the FP reservations at 60 days out, said the first CM was absolutely incorrect, then asked for her name. I bought the APs while on the phone with her, and they are now linked to MDE. I really thought I was pretty informed after 25 trips to DW, but that first gal had me wondering. I knew I could count on the DIS....Thanks!!!!

Yeah, you got bad info.
Plus, there is nothing to link. You buy the AP via your MDE account and it's all connected "magically"
I never bother with doing things on the phone and I sure never bother to ask them questions anymore.
They are really clueless way more than they are clued in

:rotfl2:Yes, you do seem to get conflicting answers. I just thought I'd call to verify what I THOUGHT I already knew, before spending $1,600. Her version certainly didn't make any sense to me. :rolleyes1

I bought a voucher in December 2014 and activated it in December 2015, had no problem with fast passes at 60 days. Saved me 2 price increases and got photopass!
