I know we get a 100 dollar discount for being a DVC member and can buy the TIW card. How much is that card now btw? Also, I can't remember what other "perks" you get with an AP? Do you get free parking in the parks if you were to stay off site?? :scared1: I KNOW....LOL I think I remember the AP does not get you free parking.

Thanks

You get free parking with an AP no matter where you are staying.

TiW costs $75 for AP holders.

Other AP perks are mainly discounts on merchandise at some locations, and restaurants for some meals at some locations.

That's all I can think of.

Oh good... I think I thought DVC members got free parking when staying off site and that is where I got confused. I am glad it is an AP perk then. THANKS!!!

There are also discounts on tours, there is a pretty good discount on rental cars, and room discounts if you need to stay not on points.

Best parts of an AP in my mind are:

1. TIW card--remember that only one person needs the card--it is good for up to 9 additional people at the table. Since my husband and I are not DDP type eaters and generally tip over 20% (we tend to want apps and drinks rather than desserts) this is a much better way to go for us. There are a few restaurants that take TIW and not DDP that we love to go to as well and the card gives us an excuse!

2. AP room discounts. I wanted to do a quick 3 day trip with my mom and had never tried the Polynesian. The AP room discount meant that I used a travel agent to book the trip and got to experience an non-DVC resort. I can totally see splurging on 2 nights at the Poly (or a nonDVC resort) and then moving to my DVC home when I travel with my husband.

Another TIW question--is it for a calendar year, or is it like the APs a d the clock starts when you buy it? Is free valet just if you're eating at the hotel, or can we use it when we are staying at BW for example?

  • Resort valet services are complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle.
  • Theme Park parking is complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. Before 5:00pm, please pay for parking at the Toll Plaza. Visit Guest Relations on your way out of the Theme Park, and if it has been less than 3 hours, show your membership card and dining receipt for reimbursement for parking. After 5:00 p.m., members can show their membership card at the toll plaza to enter the parking lot. Theme park admission is required for dining in all Theme Park restaurant locations. On Block-Out dates, there will be a charge for parking and valet services.
  • Block-out dates for the Tables in Wonderland are Mothers Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Excellent question, we're hoping to get a TIW card in 2 weeks and would love to know the answer too!

Generally, a TiW Card may valid for up to 13 months. It will be active from the date of purchase (even if purchased mail order).
