ok... I am considering annual passes and wanted to know what to expect. What resort discounts have you received using the AP? Thanks for the info!!!

rellim:

I got AP rates for 2001 at the All Stars for $49, Moderates for $89, and AKL for $179 savannaugh view. Go to mousesaver.com. AP rates start at $70 thru 9/30/02.

Only one person in your party needs an annual pass in order to take advantage of the annual pass room rates. Also, if you are going 8 or more days within one calendar year, you are money ahead with the annual passes for your whole family. Have a great time!

I also plan to buy the AP, but am going over Christmas. How will I know if there will be any rate discounts??
Do they ever offer them a year ahead, or do you need to keep calling back?
Thanks

AP rates are usually announced about 3 months ahead of time although Disney released 9 months worth in January. Kepp watching these boards. You will know when the next round gets released.

There usually are not discounts right at Christmas but if you are going wither before or after sometimes you can get a good rate. If you make a reservation at a higher price and a dicsount comes out for an AP rate you can "chane" your reservation to reflect the lower AP rate

The AP's are a great thing to have - not only for the room discounts but also for a few other "perks" you get.

10% off at World of Disney on $25 or more
Discounts on lunches at certain restaurants
Discounts on mini golf
No parking fees

I'm sure there are others that I forgot to mention, but can't remember off the top of my head.

We loved them because of the flexibility we got to have with going to the parks. We enjoyed being able to go the parks for just an hour at a time if we wanted. I think they are worth their cost.

We just purchased them at the end of last September. During our 8 night stay during September/October at ASMo we saved $400. Then for our 4 night stay at ASMu over Christmas we saved $240. Over Memorial Day weekend we will save $240. We are planning on using them again for two weeks before the run out. That will save us around $375. That comes to a total of $1,255 during one year! That does not include the tax savings.

The only bad thing I have to say about the pass is that it burns a hole in your pocket!! So watch out! Hope this info helps you out. The AP lounge is a good benefit also.

I bought an AP because I knew I would be traveling to WDW twice in 2001. I got a king bed room at CSR for $99. I was attending a conference off-site where the convention rate was $134!! At Christmas the family stayed at Ft Wilderness Cabins for $159 (four adults, one teen so we were charged $10 a night for the older kids.

Now here's the downside. I planned an impromptu Spring Break trip because I had the AP. Used Priceline and stayed off-site, but I don't think I would have done it without the AP. My paper's been accepted for that yearly conference, so now I'm waiting for October AP rates. The AP has fueled my WDW addiction! I just ordered tickets for MNSSHP, and am taking my DS and DH out of school to come with me in October!
