Annual Pass Resort Discount Question

I hope this is an easy one for this astute group: if I purchase annual passes, can I use them to procure the resort discount benefits before I activate the pass?
To clarify my intentions: I have a 7 day trip booked for September for my family. I see that there are some great discounts currently going, if you have an AP. So, I thought, hey, I'll get 2 APs for me and the wife and we can take another week trip in May and take advantage of the AP discount on the resort when I book. Then, in May, I'll activate the APs and be good. Is this feasible? Thanks in advance!

As long as you are describing the resort stay in May...yes. Your September stay could not be booked with AP rates.

Also, please know that the recent AP discounts are better than they have been the last year or so. I would expect smaller discounts after Galaxys Edge opens and AP discounts of any kind are not guaranteed.

I'm confused. Why are you saying OP can't use the discount for his September trip? Assuming of course that an Annual Pass room discount becomes available for his dates and applies to his room category?

For clarity, I'm assuming the OP means May 2019 and September 2019. Purchasing APs prior to May trip and using for both trips.

I'm confused. Are you thinking of going May 2019 and September 2019? Or September 2019 and May 2020? I'm assuming May 2019. Yes, book the May 2019 room under the AP discount, activate the pass during your May trip and start enjoying the benefits. I would then "re-shop" your September stay when those AP resort rates come out. I'm also assuming you do not have tickets already attached to your September 2019 reservation?

I took it to mean May 2020. After reading again I am unsure when OP is talking about. Anyway, you need to present an active AP at check in or have it linked to your account for online check in.
