Quick question, are people able to renew annual passes online or do we have to call? My annual pass is within the 40 days renewal, but it does not give me the option to renew online. I'm not sure if I'm miscalculating the date...it expires August 28th. I want my photopass to be grandfathered in..so I want to renew as soon as I can.

Thank you.

I don't think you can renew them online until you are within 30 days. Also, if you do the monthly payment option, you have to renew in person.

Your Photopass will be grandfathered in as long as you renew it within the renewal window and don't let the pass lapse. No need to do it sooner than it expires.

From Disneyland website:

You can renew online or in person starting 40 days before your Annual Passport's expiration date. To renew in person, please visit a Disneyland Resort Main Entrance Ticket Booth. Please note: Once your Annual Passport expires, you cannot renew it.

Today is the first day of your 40 days. I would guess the system just hasn't caught up with you yet. Like previous poster mentioned, it's not urgent that you renew in the first hours that you can.

You can do the monthly payment plan with an online renewal if you are a CA resident. I just did this last weekend.

One thing thats funny about not renewing/renewing, is I let my passs lapse usually. This last time I went to get new APs(last October) they asked if i needed new cards. I said yes, i threw the old ones away as they expired months ago, and they said no need to throw away because they could just be re-activated. So seems they technically "could" just renew them but tell you they can't lapse to try to pressure you into renewing.

No,what they do is keep your AP number the same in the system. We had a period of 4 years where we didn't have APs and when we moved back and purchased them again, they reissued our APs with our old numbers. But if you let it lapse, you miss out on the renewal discount, which is pretty significant.

What? I wasn't given that option...that's weird.
The DL website is so weird. I was looking into paying with a gift card so I clicked that option on the payment page but it would not accept my gift card. It looked like the space provided was for a Disney Rewards redemption card, but it clearly stated you could use a gift card. There was not a place anywhere else to enter it so I said forget it and did the payment plan instead!

See..that IS weird because I wanted to pay $500 using my Disney Visa Redemption card and then finance the rest and they would only take a single major credit card as payment IN FULL...no other options.

Its never been very significant if anything on the So Cal Select, especially since we aren't usually going during the lapse period.

Oh, well it is $50 on the Signature pass, which is a nice chunk off.

Yeah the valued customers get nice perks. Us So Cal select customers are scum, lucky to wen be offered lower price APs :). I think one time I looked and there was $10 off if I renewed early. Which when my monthly payment is $20 and i'm not going again for 3 months is kind of silly.

Thanks you all for the help. I decided to call the annual pass hold line and after being On hold for 25 minutes, they told me monthly payments are only available to renew online or in person. So the lady transferred me to another department and they submitted a ticket for me. The man said it happened all the time. We will see. I'm going in two weeks so if it's available online I'll do it before then if not in person.
