Annual Pass Renewal Question

We are DVC members and doing a split stay this September at AKL and POP.
We are staying at POP and doing the free dining promotion. We had to purchase a one day base park ticket to qualify for the free dining.

We have annual passes purchased with the DVC discount. Our annual passes expire 12/31/08.

My question is when it is time to renew our annual passes can we use the one day base ticket and upgrade to the DVC renewal price?

Yes, just be aware that it can not be done pre-purchase, you'll need to renew your AP in person, and present the one day passes at that time. I don't know how early you are allowed to renew an AP, do you have a WDW trip planned in December?

You know, I did this last summer - at the Guest Relations window at Epcot - and while I was ultimately allowed to do it, the girl behind the window had me fill out a form and said that it had to be overridden or something like that, because technically you weren't supposed to be allowed to do it. I wonder if that was just a glitch or if more people have had that same experience.

On the other hand, she renewed my AP for a time frame a couple of weeks later so it would match the ones I was getting for my daughters, so that was a nice bit of pixie dust!!
