Annual Pass renewal question

I just received a letter to renew my annual pass at a discount. It says its good till after 30 days from the annual pass experation date. We will be going back to universal next summer around the same time as last year. If I renew the pass 2 weeks after the experation date will the new period begin from the experation date or from when I do the renewal.
