Annual pass renewal question: passes converted to RFID

I am looking into renewing our annual passes purchased with our DVC discount; they expire on August 3, 2013. In April 2013, we made a trip to the world and converted our passes to RFID. I am confused by the following statement on Disney's Web site on the Annual Passes ticket page:

"Did you convert your pass to one of the new cards after 3/19/2013? Please pardon our pixie dust while we prepare to roll-out MyMagic+ enhancements for your enjoyment later this year. Please renew your pass at any Walt Disney World Theme Park or Downtown Disney ticket sales location."

Does this mean I can't renew my pass without actually going to guest services? If so ...

First, this makes me wonder how I can renew my pass within the time frame of 30 days after expiration when my next trip is planned for November.

Second, what happens if they roll out Fastpass+. How could I make fastpass reservations in advance for November if I can't renew my pass until I get there?

I can't answer your questions, but we did upgrade to DVC AP on Friday and we have the RFID pass now. I was wondering about the FastPass+ program, too. It doesn't seem to be active here yet.

I would probably call Member Services. They might be able to renew over the phone and mail you something? I don't know the answer either.

You will be able to renew your pass by getting a voucher that may be activated on your next stay in November. It will still have the activation date when your current AP expires but you can accomplish this either by calling MS or calling the AP number. I believe it can also be done online where you can print out the redemption voucher to take to Guest Services on or next trip.

I'm having similar difficulty but, can shoot myself in the foot sometimes.... I was at AK today and had forgotten my CC when I went to guest services (Yikes!!) so the CM gave me a code that is associated with my account that, according to her, I could use Online or on the Phone. Neither is working because the area of My Disney Experience that is required to associate a pass with my account is not working but, it MIGHT be working in a few days. :sad2:

And the cast member can not renew you by phone either. Mine expires tomorrow and it's unlikely that I am driving back up any time this month to get in the 30 day time frame for the $30 off. (I just got the letter today) On top of that, I was there in May and was told I didn't have to renew until June and that I couldn't renew then because my contract expires in June.

I am going to be a very unhappy passholder whenever I head up and find that they won't apply the discount outside of the 30 days. :scared1:
