Annual Pass Renewal and last minute Fastpass

I won't be able to renew my annual pass until shortly before my trip. So I won't likely be able to book any fastpasses until just before I get there, maybe a week before. I'm looking to book Star Tours (on a Monday or a Thursday) Soarin (on a Wednesday or a Friday) and Pirates of the Caribbean on Tuesday. This is last week of October. Think I will have any problems?

All should be available. Checking for tomorrow for a party of 2, Soarin' has availability from late afternoon through park close. You should book Soarin' as soon as you renew and then book the others.

What if you buy a 3-day ticket to link to your MDE to book FPs well before your arrival. Then, when you arrive at WDW, use the 3-day towards your AP renewal?

Thanks. I didn't realize you could buy a 3 day pass and use it towards my ap renewal. Great idea. I'm hoping to renew as soon as I can though and hoping that it can be sooner than a week before but it's looking likely that's the way it will be.
