Annual Pass renewal and FP+

So I've got an Annual pass that is about to expire and a trip upcoming in January. I'm assuming that when I call Member services to renew, the annual pass in my MDE account will get an updated expiration date and I will be able to make FP+ reservations when the 60 day window opens.

Has this worked well for other people or have there been computer glitches in making it happen? Will I need to input a new voucher conf # to make it work? Just wondering what to expect.

When you renew, MS will give you a voucher # for each pass you are renewing. You'll need to update your MDE account to link these voucher numbers to your account and you should be good to go for FP+ reservations. I always give it some time after linking for the system to catch up. We did the exact same thing for our upcoming trip next week.

Thanks. Do you still have to go Guest Services the day you get there to activate the voucher, even for a renewal?

And hopefully, that will go well. DH stood in a very long line at MK Guest Services, who then sent him to another "kiosk". "All set now, sir!" as they handed him his card and sent him to the front gate. But nothing worked, not MB, not the card he'd just been given. When the nice CM said "Well, you'll have to go over to Guest Relations", DH kind of blew a gasket (he's so even tempered I was shocked!) and they called a manager over. Fortunately the manager fixed it, but all this on our first day at the world, on DGD's b'day, not a good way to start.

Actually you can activate the vouchers at a ticket booth. That is how we did it last year. It worked like a charm. Hoping for the same results in November when we activate our AP renewal.

Sorry to hear about the problems Dorothy. It appears there are still glitches with the system.

So what will happen if I made fastpass + selections for my upcoming trip on my old AP and then during my trip renew my AP? Will I lose my FP+ selections or does it carry through?

The ticket window-that's where he was sent from guest relations. And what's ironic (I almost said funny) was that the CM on the phone had told us he needed to go to guest relations (I wrote it down when she told us). Glad to hear that at least maybe his problems were only a one-time thing and not "That's what happens". Thanks for the encouragement-I was about to order an AP and kind of dreading activating it.

I had similar questions myself. We have AP's that expire in November and a trip booked for December. I decided to renew earlier this month so that I could make FP + at 60 days out. Also this was my first year with an AP, so also my first renewal. I called MS and I was given one will call number for my DH and myself ( we both have the AP's). I had a little trouble linking at first but another call to MS fixed that. When my window opened I made FP without a problem. I plan to go to guest relations on our arrival day so that when we go to the park for the first time in the morning hopefully our MB's and AP's will work.

Can I ask how you worked this out? I also got one voucher number for my DH and myself. But when I try to link it to MDE, I keep being told that my ticket is outside the age range for the ticket. Go figure. Ours expire 12/1; we arrive the Friday after Thanksgiving Day. Thanks.

The same thing happened when my wife and I tried to link our AP renewal will-call number to our MDEs. My wife could link the AP to her MDE, but I kept getting the "age range" error on my MDE. I waited a day, thinking I'd have to call Disney IT for assistance. However, the next day I was able to link the AP to my MDE. I didn't do anything different, other than waiting a day. Go figure.

That is exactly what happened to me! I called MS and they were able to fix it while I was on the phone with them.

Maybe it is because you have seperate MDE accounts or maybe I am just impatient. Glad yours worked the next day though!

Thanks, guys. I've tried over about 7 days now w/ no luck. I just need to call, I guess.

Definitely, much better to deal with it now than when you are on vacation. The thing that took the longest was waiting on hold for MS in the first place. Once I got a CM it only took a few minutes to fix.

I have the same issue with renewing my AP. My AP expires on 12/26. I also have trip planned for 12/26-29 staying on site at Pop Century. After reading this thread I decided to call the AP phone line to see if I could go ahead and renew my AP now since my Fast Window will open in 3 days. I especially want to get this done because the week after Christmas is such a busy time and I know that some FPs will already be gone by those people checking in a few days before us. The cast member told me that I could only reserve one day at a time....huh?? This will be my 6th trip this year, and I have been able to select my FPs at my 60 resort reservation window each time. It's so frustrating when you talk to a CM and you know more than they do about how to work the system!!

That is weird and also frustrating. Good thing you do know more to know that isn't true. I was able to make all of my FP+ on my 60 day mark and I made them for 7 days.

Thankfully I called back a few hours later and got a more knowledgeable CM. He was able to renew my passes, give me a voucher number and send me an email with all my information! Now if it will just all work correctly when my FP window opens I'll be all set!

I think as long as you have your ap renewal linked on MDE you won't have a problem making the FP's.

I called MS today and was able to get the vouchers linked. The CM I spoke w/ was kind but clueless about the problem. She put me on hold 4 times to speak w/ a "manager." Funny thing is, when the vouchers finally appeared in MDE, it says they expire December 31, 2030! Now there's a deal! :confused3 But I was able to complete my FP selections, so mission accomplished. LOL! Thanks for your help.
