Annual Pass Questions

I apologize if this is in the wrong place and my research has given me conflicting information so I was hoping to get some answers from all the experts!

We are going to be buying annual passes soon but don't plan on activating them until May when we go. Here are some random things that keep going through my head about this.

1. Can we make a room only reservation using the AP discount prior to activating them? I know it says you just need to have proof upon check in but I wasn't sure if they will also need to have it activated to make the reservation.

2. Will we not be able to make any Fast Pass selections for our trip until the annual pass is activated or can we do it just knowing it is on file?

3. (the least important but still fun) I assume we won't get the Annual Pass magic bands until we actually activate our passes?

1b. They can SEE in your computer file if you've ordered an AP,
so they very well MIGHT not even ask to see the AP (very common not to.)

2. You can input the confirmation number and book at 60 days in advance.

3. You'll get the RESORT MB's sent to you and your AP will be available via those for the FIRST trip.
After you return home from that first trip, at some point they'll send you the specific AP MBs.
Any MBs that you have from that first trip, the AP MBs and MBs from future trips to a WDW Resort...
will ALL work at the parks, and FP+, etc.

Thank you so much for your help! We have a large collection of magic bands as it is so that one really isn't a big deal... just exciting since it will be our first time with AP's!

1. Nope.
2. Whatever color you choose (same as the resort MBs.)

The reason APs get MBs is that a lot of AP holders are FL locals and don't stay at WDW resorts.

Ours came with a passholder slider!
