What happens if I buy and annual pass when my child is 9, but turns 10 during the year? Do we just keep using the child pass or do we have to upgrade or do they not even check?

You should have no problem using the child pass. I highly doubt they will check it. My understanding is that Disney uses the age of the child when the pass is purchased/activated.

Now, if you purchase the AP when the child is 9 and then wait 11 months to activate it (when the child is 10), that might be a different story.

If you child is 9 when you buy the pass, and then you go later during that years time and she is 10, I would simply use the same pass. The pass does not know your daughter's age changed, neither do the CM. I mean it is a waste of money to go out and buy an adult pass just for your daughter because she turned 10 in the middle of the Children's pass. Not to mention then her pass will end at a different time then yours. I would not worry about getting a new pass, just use the children's pass and have a great time at Walt Disney World. ::MickeyMo

I don't think Mickey will mind. ::MickeyMo

Mark gave you the official ruling.

Your child must be 9 when the pass is activated. If the child turns 10 the next day, it's okay as long as it was activated when the child was 9. :)

However, if you waited that day, and activated on the 10th birthday, you should technically buy an adult pass.
