We are planning a trip and just bought annual pass on disney's website with our dvc discount. I have a few question. We're doing a split stay, and booking the first portion at a disney resort and the second at a dvc resort. I have read on this board that if your an annual pass holder that you don't need to book tickets to add the dining plan. When we call in, do we tell them that we are annual pass holders?

We will be picking up the tickets at guest service at the park the arrival day. Would we be consider annual pass holders if we don't get the tickets until arrival day? Do they need proof at check in, do I have to go pick up the tickets first? I am not booking an annual pass rate, but booking the promotion disney have on right now for spring, I just want to make sure I can just add dining without getting tickets. I am not sure if I am making any sense, hope someone understands what I am saying. Thanks for your help in advance

I believe you can add dining if you are booking the AP rate--it is a special AP package that doesn't require tickets. I don't know how it would work with the general code, I don't think it would. anyone?:confused3

I've booked the AP rate and added dining before easily. We also do this for the couple nights before our DVC stay! You should be asked for your AP at check in so they can verify that you are an AP holder. I've booked 4 AP rooms in the last year and never been asked for my AP. Perhaps their system shows that I do have a valid AP so it isn't an issue. Not sure.

Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

You can only do the ticketless dining package if you book it as a Passholder Package. If you book the Spring Broad Offer now you can change it to a Passholder Package later if Passholder Rates comes out for your dates of travel. But be sure to call right when rates are released as rooms go fast with the AP rate. You don't need the pass when you book the ressie. Just call 407-560-PASS and book your reservation.

The Front Desk is supposed to ask for the AP at check in but oftentimes they do not. If they do ask you to present it normally you are allowed to come back with the activated pass later that day.

Are you driving? If so you could stop by Guest Relations at Downtown Disney Marketplace or West Side on the way to the Resort and pick up your AP's there so you're sure you have them at check in.

Have a great trip and relax...

The only way to get the DDP without having to buy park tickets is if you are staying on DVC points or you're an AP holder booked at either rack rate or an AP rate. The general public codes and PIN codes require the purchase of at least a one day ticket for everyone in the room (Free dining requires at least a two day ticket). This is true even for AP holders. I too have the spring offer booked, but even as an AP holder still had to buy one day tickets for each of us. If an AP discount comes out for those dates, then I'll call and have it applied. The room discount should be about 5% more, plus I can cancel those one day park tickets we don't need. Again the only time even an AP holder can buy the DDP without also having to buy park tickets is if we are paying rack rate or using an AP discount. GP codes require everyone to buy at least one day park tickets.
