Annual Pass question?

I am thinking about getting an annual pass next year for our vacation. I have never done this before but am thinking I may go back again the following year for the opening of Cars Land. My question is Disneyland.com or at Disneyland the only places where you can get annual passes. I know Costco used to sell them but I heard they no longer do. Is the price usually $299 for the deluxe or can you get them cheaper? Thanks everyone

Alot of grocery store carry card that are for annual passes i just seen this the other day at Stater brothers and albertson. You use the card as a ticket and then you go to to ap processing center and get your perment pass there not cheaper same price as if you were to buy online or at the park

If you're a member of AAA, you might give them a call. They have some Disney packages listed right now. I don't see an AP special listed but it's worth a shot.

I've only seen them on "sale" twice, and that was during the same year...2 years ago. The Costco thing was one (they weren't cheaper, but they came with a giftcard, if I recall correctly), and then there was a direct link to disneyland.com for a cheaper AP.

Anything could change, but I haven't seen any AP deals since '08.

Thanks everyone, I am not having to purchase it for quite a while yet so am not too concerned. Either way it will still save me money, I plan on doing the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour and also the money I will save on food, and HOJOS.

That's what we are going to do for this trip. DH is member of the teacher's union. There are a few fees involved but it is still cheaper for the four of us. I'd love to hear from anyone who has used them.

I was hoping Costco would have their good deal like before but they don't seem to be doing that and we only have a month left.

When I went to DLR with my sister and BIL last November, they bought these and it worked out perfectly. I think it cost something like $16 to ship them, but that was because of the value of the tix. They are sent special delivery and insured. Anything you purchase from TSA over $500 incurs that fee but they are then sent next-day and completely insured. If you wanted to avoid the fee, you could purchase each ap separately, but then if anything happened to them in the mail, I imagine you'd be out the money? I'm not sure how that works or if you could just add some insurance to the order for 1.

Anyway, they arrived at my sister's the next day and everything went smoothly!

Thanks everyone! I have been going back & forth for several years now whether to get an AP or not. I usually do not get the chance to take a Disney trip annualy usually it is every couple of years. We went to WDW last August so our next trip will be 2011. If I get an AP I will have to go again in 2012.

I upgraded a 3-Day Park Hopper to a Deluxe AP in April. My total cost was $263. I bought my Park Hopper from LastMinuteTravel online for $148 and some odd cents. I took it to the AP Processing Center in DL on my 3rd morning, fully expecting to pay $151 to upgrade to the $299 AP. The Cast Member said I owed $115 -- which would be the case if I had paid the online Disney price of $184 for my 3-Day Hopper. But I didn't. I only paid $148. So I told her that I had bought my ticket at a discount, how much I paid, where I got it, I was prepared to pay the higher amount, etc. She just said, "Thank you for your honesty, but this is fine." So I have no idea if this is the way upgrades from discount tickets are normally handled or if I had a little pixie dust come my way that day.
