Annual Pass Question?

I am considering an AP but have no idea how this works. Do you purchase the voucher online then activate on your first day visit or does it become active the day of purchase? How is the best way to buy an AP?

You buy the voucher then get it exchanged at the ticket counter, and the best way to buy is with a voucher, there is less time to wait for your payment and everything to go through. it took me maybe three minutes to get mine exchanged.

I bought mine online and just took the voucher to guest relations at the front of MK to get the actual pass. The pass isn't activated until you exchange the voucher for it. I bought the pass in April, but didn't pick it up/use it as a ticket to get in until Aug. 8, so it expires this Aug. 8.
If you know you're going to be making more than one trip in a year I think it's worth it. I'll have used it on three trips by the time it expires, so I know I've saved some cash over the regular ticket price.

I've done it with a voucher and without a voucher. The difference is that when you don't have a voucher, you pay for it when you get it. When you have the voucher it's prepaid and you exchange it for the passes. Neither takes that long.

The ONLY reason I got the voucher this time is because I wanted to order the Disney Dining Experience card also and you need at least a voucher to do that because they need your number from the back of the card. If it weren't for that I wouldn't have gotten the voucher and just got my passes our first day there. Our first stop when we get to Disney always seems to be Downtown Disney Marketplace and I just have gotten mine there.

Also the voucher is good for BRP for AP holders. Make photocopies of your vouchers. If you lose them Disney will not replace them.

Just remember that you need a photo ID to get an Annual Passport if you are an adult. Everything is tied into that ID. That's how you can get the passes replaced easily if you lose, I mean, misplace them.
