Annual Pass question...yes, I read the sticky

I'm considering upgrading the myw hopper plus water park and more tickets to an annual pass when I go in May. These tickets are part of the package I booked through Disney. I read on the sticky that if I go to the waterpark before I upgrade, I will be forced to upgrade to the premium pass. My question is this:

If I upgrade to the basic annual pass BEFORE I use the waterpark passes, will I lose the waterpark and more option for the May trip? I'd like to go to the waterpark but only this one time. The next time I go will be in the winter and I won't want to go to the waterpark then. I hope my question makes sense.

Yes.
As you will no longer have your original ticket.
You upgraded it to a standard AP without WP privileges.

you can buy a separate water park ticket (for one day around $50 or a water parks annual pass for around $100)
