Annual Pass Online Renewal Question

Hi! I'm looking for some information from someone who has renewed their annual pass online recently. I renewed in December after my pass expired. It was the first time I renewed, as I was a new passholder in 2015. Tomorrow is my first trip to the parks after renewing, and I know that I have to activate my pass before I can go into the park. The only thing I received from Disney is a receipt that was emailed to me with a bar code. Is this (and my ID, and magic band) what I need to renew at Guest Services in the park? I called the Passholder line and got conflicting answers, so now I'm concerned.

Thanks in advance!
Courtney

We renewed online in October and did not have to do anything. Our magic bands worked when we went into park a month after renewal. I was prepared to go to GR to activate but had no problems. YMMV.

I have an annual pass from DVC...I renew it over the phone but I always have to go on the regular ticket line and show them my ID every year so I can get in.

I went to GS to make sure but I don't think I really needed to. I got my new MB and slider in the mail with my discount card in it. They wanted to give me a new AP card at GS but since I had my discount card and my tickets were on my MB, I didn't get one, who needs another card to carry around. They did check my MB to make sure the AP was active.

I didn't get a discount card when I renewed mine (just a new MB) so I stopped at GS to pick up a new pass card. I did get a discount card when I renewed the year before, so I don't know if the intent was to use the same card or not, but I thought better to be safe than sorry. I was staying at YC the first trip after the renewal, so I just walked over to IG the evening I checked in and took care of it. Even when I had the pass card and the discount card I carried both, since I'd had a few issues with MB's not working and used the AP card to get in.

I just renewed my AP (as of 2/14/16) online. I was able to select a new Magic Band, but did not get a new discount card in the Magic Band box. When I originally upgraded to an AP last year, it took a number of weeks to get the discount card.

I renewed my AP about four months ago, and haven't received a discount card in the mail. The first renewal after the MB started, I got the discount card in the box with the MB. I got the most recent MB about 30 days after the renewal, which was about 30 days prior to my next trip (I think my AP renewal hit at maybe 64 days prior to check in for my next trip). So I'm pretty sure I would have it by now if it were coming. Unless the fact that I went to GS and got a physical AP card stopped the discount card from being mailed (always a possibility). I also don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that just by coincidence I renewed the last day before all the major AP changes and price increases - so maybe some sort of glitch in the switchover kept the discount card from being mailed.

Last year when I renewed online it gave me a confirmation number I was able to enter into My Disney Experience.
THen when I got to WDW I visited guest services and they gave me my new discount card and the physical AP card
