I’ve recently purchased the highest level Uni passes again after letting them lapse. I understand it’s technically free parking only after the first visit. I’m guessing that’s because you don’t get the physical AP card until after you visit the first time, and you pay for parking at the entrance to the park? With that said, I remember that for valet parking you pay at pickup. So if I valet park, get my AP, then present it when I leave, will I still get charged the $70? Anyone have any idea? I’m leaning towards gambling and just paying the $70 if it doesn't work, but I’m curious if anyone else has any experience with it.

So I am pretty sure that you pay to park in advance.
Been a long time since I have driven to Universal but I'm pretty sure that is how it works.

Uber is probably cheaper the first visit TBH.

For valet you definitely pay on pickup (I had annual passes until last May). Just trying to figure out how that works with the no use on first visit for a new annual pass. Uber doesn’t work for us because of car seat needs.

We paid at the toll booth, then they directed us to take the receipt to the ticket booth and present that when picking up the AP cards and they reimbursed me for the parking right then.

Valet is in different area than regular parking. But you get preferred parking in the garage with top pass so definitely a way to if you can get reimbursed after AP activation
