How does AP holder get on a float? What is the process?

They send out an email listing dates and a sign-up time. Then it is first come first serve once that window opens on the web site. You can also do the same sign-up as regular guests if you don't get a time from that AP window.

To get a slot with AP takes a bit of luck - you pretty much have to get the email and react to it immediately
You need your AP as well as anyone you want to go with you. You have to input the numbers.

In addition they sell a package with dinner and a guaranteed spot of a float.

Third option is in the afternoon on the day they fill any leftover slots with the app - Sunday - Thursday are much easier in my expreainace.
You pretty much have to hang around the entrance to Animal Actors and keep checking the app to see if there are any open spots.
I was able to do it several nights last year and its well worth doing.

Any idea when that email normally goes out? In January maybe? Have wanted to do this but am always too late to get on.....REALLY want to do this in February or March this coming year. Guess I need to check my emails hourly!!!!

Last year it came on January 18th around 9:15AM - don't think there is any warning or a heads up of any type.

We are getting passes this year , activating on Jan 2 and last year when we had passes (took 8 months off) I never got the emails and never could find anyway to fix that...any advice?

Just be sure to be set up to get emails. I think there is a setting when you log into your account.

Recently there was a "Your Bonus Benefits are Almost Here!" email - did you get that?

Other than that if you show up each day before the parade there are often spots available - so watch for details on that when Mardi Gras starts. Weekdays are easier to get spots IMO.

When we were passholders last year I had that selected and never got any. I didn't get that email but we are current passholders right now.

FYI - The email came out yesterday just after noon Orlando time and it looks as if all the spots are full.

If you are there for a few days - Especially Sunday thru Wednesday - you should be able to grab a spot before the event.
They use the app to fill any extra spots as well as spots for people that did not show up - watch for details during the event on what the process is - I am sure people will post here with their results. I think I did it three times last year.
