@grannyminnie you are correct. You can not customize the AP magicband until after activation of the AP. Just use the one that you are receiving for your resort stay during your upcoming trip. You will not receive anything in the mail. In the past, printed physical vouchers were sent in the mail for you to turn in to guest services at activation. This is no longer the case. You should have received a confirmation email when you made the online purchase. You should also be able to see your annual pass listed in your MDE account. Look on the home page under the tab "Tickets and Memory Maker".

I have always been asked to "show" my actual AP card to get the dining and merchandise discounts. The tickets and Memory maker are both on the magic bands.

I do not request the AP MB since I have more than one resort stay each year. I use those MB to access the parks and FP. I always show the AP card and my ID for discounts. Sometimes they look at it in passing and sometimes they check it thoroughly.

On a computer (or using the internet browser on your phone) it should show up under “my reservations & tickets.” If using the App, it should be under “my tickets.”

On the full site, sign in to your account, go to the My Disney Experience front page. You'll see a picture denoting something representing each of the four parks.
Scroll down further. It will say your Name Plans and Tickets. Scroll down further past the section saying My Planning Party. The next part says My Plans, Reservations and Tickets. This section has two tabs. The default is Daily Itinerary. You can select the other tab, Tickets and Memory Maker.
