As I understand we get 1 free pass for kids under 7 per Adult Pass. Do we also get a pass for my 2 year old even if kids under 3 are free? He will turn three over Christmas, and I would like to have an Annual Pass for him that works when he turns three.

I'm pretty sure the child has to be 3 or older when getting the AP & they ask for proof of age.

Thats right, for the childrens free AP they do ask for proof of age of the child before they will issue the AP - so if the child isn't 3 yet, you can't get a free AP for him.

You beat me to it, I was just about to ask the same question.

It seems a little unfair that under 3 can't get an AP. When my daughter turns 3 next year we'll have to pay full price even if the free APs for under 7s offer is extended.

I'm in the same boat - kind of frustrated. Our DD will turn 3 after we have our passes for about 7 months and we will then have to get one for her. Will we have to show proof of age every time we take her to the park? That's going to get a little annoying! I really wish we could take advantage of the free for under 7 pass for her!

Unless your 2-year old looks a lot older for his/her age, you won't be asked for proof that your child is still 2.

But yes, once he/she is 3, you will have to pay for a pass/tickets for him/her to enter the parks.

I understand where you're coming from, not being able to get a free pass for a child because they're not 3 yet. I guess DLRP's thinking is that you don't pay for an entrance ticket for them anyway, so they are excluded from the offer.

Remember though, once your child does need a paid ticket, if you decide to get an annual pass for them, that pass can be sponsored, so you get 10% off the price.

Kyra looks 3, but is 2 so do you think i can try get her annual pass free as she is 3 4 weeks before we go, or will they ask for id?

To get the annual pass, you do need to provide proof of age for the childrens free passes I'm afraid - they will ask for this.

Actually, Kyra will be fine won't she - if she's already 3 years old 4 weeks before your visit to DLRP? You can get the free pass legitimately then, as she will be 3 when you buy your annual pass.

Oops i actually meant she will be 4 weeks away from turning 3, damn! :rotfl: Maybe that is a good thing lol.

Oh well, no biggie. I guess we'll just wait until she turns 3 and get her sponsored. Or maybe we can sponsor a few people and get it that way. :) The frustrating thing is that we'll always be off a few months.

on the plus side...
when you DO buy the 3-year-olds pass you can still get a free one for yourself - they don't bother themselves if you get a duplicate - so you can get more fast-passes.
very exciting!
and you won't be 'off' with the 3-year-old - you'll still have a pass that expires at the same time.

I don't understand this. How can I get a free one? You mean if they're still offering a free child under 7 with an adult AP?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the OP will be able to get another pass for themselves when buying one for their 3 yr old. Even if the free AP offer is still on, it's buy one adult, get one child under 7 free, not the other way round, and they will be able to see from their records that the OP already has one.

i've done it!!
so i suppose if they diligently checked whether you already had a pass you'd be out of luck but IME this doesn't happen.
so yes, of course you have to pay for your own one and get the child's pass free but this effectively results in the same amount of passes for the same money.

Well, if we're lucky enough to have this offer extended until June of 2009... I'll try it out and see if it works! :)
