Annual Pass (Florida Resident) Question

I am currently in the process of moving to Orlando for a full time position I have accepted in Orange County. As of Monday when I start my new job I will be a Florida resident.

I would like to get an annual pass asap so I can hit the parks in my free time. However I won't have a Florida driver's license for a few weeks.

I will be living with a friend of mine (who actually works for Disney) so I won't have mortgage or rental paperwork in my name either.

Is there any way I can get a Florida Resident annual pass based on employment paperwork and/or ID badge from my employer (a government agency in Orange County) or will I have to pay the non-resident price if I want the AP before I can acquire my Florida driver's license?

I really don't want to wait until I receive my Florida license but I'm not sure what else I can use that I have to prove residency that Disney will accept.

Thanks in advance for any help or direction you can provide.

Are you opening a bank account? Or possibly a copy of your pay stub with the address you are living at? I know most paychecks are direct deposit these days, but there still should be some paper copy available.

From the Disney website:

For Florida resident tickets, the persons who will use the adult tickets must be Florida residents and must be present at the time of ticket pick up.

For each room or package reservation, the adult who booked the reservation must be a Florida resident and must be present at check-in.

For each room or package reservation and for each adult ticket purchased, you may provide any of the following:

Valid Florida driver's license
Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
Valid Florida-based military ID

If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each room or package reservation and for each adult ticket purchased you must provide one of the following dated within the last two months and evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):

Monthly mortgage statement
Florida vehicle registration or title
Homeowner's insurance policy or bill
Automobile insurance policy or bill
Utility bill
Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings, or investment account statement
Mail from a Federal, State, County or City government agency

Bills can be no more than two (2) months old. PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency. Current bills printed from electronic versions are acceptable, though photocopies and fax copies are not.

Thank you. I saw that but it didn't address whether or not I could use my employment paperwork - especially since my new employer is a government agency. I won't have any of those documents for several weeks.

So does anyone know if I have to pay the non-resident price will they honor the resident price and refund me the difference if I can prove residency within 30 days or so once I receive the documents I need to prove residency?

I suppose I could just wait to get my pass (or could pay the non-resident rate) but I want to go to the parks right away. <grin>

They love government paperwork in my experience so try that. I have used that Before but usually just bank statements. The won't refund you later so wait to get the AP or find something on the list.

Get renter's insurance for your stuff ASAP, change your car over immediately plus your car insurance. Then you'd get those statements; my statements always have the address on it. Even my allstate car insurance card has my address on it.

Can you open an account online with your future address? Since you will be moving in with someone already there, if an account could be opened now you could have mail waiting for you.

If you purchase a regular multi-day ticket with a gate price less than a Resident AP you cn use it for several days until you can upgrade to a Resident AP.
