Annual Pass expiration question

So my current AP expires March 30, 2016. Thus if I renew it will expire March 30, 2017. School calendar 2017 dictates that we go first week in April 2017. So renewing is pointless - it expires 2 days before we go. Is there any way to extend the expiration when renewing? Otherwise I will have to pay full price for a new AP because of missing the expiration by 2 days.

No way to extend expiration, unfortunately.

You can wait up to 30 days after it expires to renew the pass. But when you renew it it still expires on the original date. Just like damo said, no way around this.

I don't know anywhere where you can renew something and it can be extended for free unless it's advertised or a special.

And there are no trips planned between those times? Nothing to make it worth just keeping the AP? We seem to just be in the mode of keeping the AP, and if one year we don't quite make the cost worth it, well, the savings over many years of trips will end up as a sort of a wash.
