Annual pass confusion

OK, we have a few trips scheduled for the next 6 months or so. We booked everything as a room only. Then we purchased annual passes. When I log into MDE it looks like everything is linked. I can see everything. My question is How do I customize my AP magic bands? Am I going to receive something in the mail related to my AP purchase? We don't want gray bands for our APs.

Have you activated (picked up at a ticketing window) your AP yet? If not you won't be able to customize your MB nor will you receive a gray band. AP need to be activated at WDW and cannot be done online or over the phone.

We have not activated yet. But if you have to go there to activate how do you customize you bands before you go? You don't get a band for your first visit with AP?

Correct, you don't. You need to have an activated AP to get an AP MB. You'll be able to customize one once your pass is activated.

Do you have an onsite resort reservation? You can customize your band through that. You don't need a separate AP band in advance. You can also use bands from prior trips. Everything links to the same MDE account and are interchangeable.

hello you dont even need tickets to get a magic band since they are used at the hotels. I had my hotels booked and magic bands ordered months before I bought my tickets. I dont think it matters but I do have an ap.

put curser on my disney experince drop down then click magic bands and cards then your hotel reservation will show up on that page. then click the get started and have fun.

The OP was asking about their AP MagicBand, not the one you get with a resort stay.

the only extra the ap band comes with is the slider other wise it seems to be the same band. if they want a color one they need to order it through there hotel.

they can get the ap perk slider once they get down there if the location they are at has any.
