Annual Pass and MDE

What happens if I link my annual pass to MDE? I have a RFID pass that I received in April. Will I still be able to use that pass?

You can link it but it doesn't really do anything special yet though. I linked my paper one. Yes, the RFID card is what you need for now.

I just got the latest Passholder newsletter today and it says, if you still have paper, upgrade to an RFID card. Which I will do in November. It also says we'll have FP+ "later this year" and magic bands "in the coming months". Almost makes it sound like we'll have FP+ before we get the bands. But who knows.

I linked ours beforè our trip and we went to willcall and picked them up with no discernable difference. Cant imagine that since youve already fired them up anything would be altered.

I'd be careful. We have the plastic RFID cards and linked them to MDE. There must have been some glitch at the time I entered them, because all our family's passes were erased and entered in my name. So I had 4 AP in my name and my family had none. We figured this out as we were trying to enter the parks. it took over an hour at guest services and in the end, they had to reissue all our APs. Since there is no benefit to it, I would wait.

I received my RFID AP in April and it was automatically added to my MDE account sometime this summer (I never added it). When I click on it, it says "card is active". Today, I was able to make my FP+ selections for next month's trip. I am staying at ASMovies, so that is possibly the factor, but I am unable to do anything with the Magic Bands.
