Annual Pass Activation at Orlando Airport?

I am trying to find out if one can still activate their Annual Passes somewhere at Orlando Airport. I think I read at one time that you could activate it at the Disney Store in the airport. This would be a huge timesaver for us if I could activate it there before checking in at our hotel. I think my wife is gonna kill me if I tell her we have to stop somewhere on the way to activate the APs before checking in to get the AP rate at our hotel.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Hope this helps.

How do I activate the voucher?

To activate the voucher, turn the voucher and a photo ID into the Guest Relations window at either the Magic Kingdom, Epcot (either front or International Gateway side), Disney-MGM Studios, the Animal Kingdom, or either Guest Relations office at Downtown Disney. You cannot activate your voucher at a WDW resort Guest Services. You can now purchase a new AP or activate the voucher at any WDW major park ticket location, not just at Guest Relations. This may be a good option if you're doing this at off peak times of the day. It may still be a good bet to use Guest Relations during the park opening rush.

TIP - The Guest Relations Window at Epcot's World Showcase is generally MUCH less crowded than other Park Guest Relations windows

A word of caution: There have been reports of people turning in their vouchers and getting activated AP's with the wrong expiration date on them. The passes will have the date you bought the voucher rather than the date you turned it in. Always check your passes for accuracy before you walk away from the Guest Relations window. It will avoid major problems for you later on.

While I once purchased a activated annual pass at the Orlando airport I am not sure you can activate them there.

In August DH and I took about 10 minutes to activate our APs at the Epcot Guest Services.

Twice I have checked into resorts on an AP rate. At CSR they didn't even ask for the AP, and when checking into cabins at FW the desk CM asked for the AP, and I started to dig it out, and she said "that's ok" without even getting a glimpse of it.

I've also read that if you show an AP voucher at checkin, the CM might just ask you to show the activated AP later. I don't think you'll have to delay your checkin into the resort. Which one are you staying at? I'm visiting BWV, BCV and AKL in 2 days! Good thing I finished the paper I'm presenting yesterday:teacher:

May I ask a different question here?? If I buy an AP now, before DC is defunct the end of Dec., can it be activated in Dec. 04, when we plan on being in WDW? I have heard you can do this and I have heard that no, it has to be activated sooner. Have any of you bought yours a year in advance? I'd just like to save what little money I can.

I always spread out my AP purchases. I bought one we activated in August in April! I don't think you will have any trouble, and $15 is $15 to spend later. I have the Disney Visa and bought two more I needed (for DS and DD) when there was a double reward points offer. That plus the DC discount made it very worthwhile to hold the vouchers for a bit.

You cannot now nor could you ever activate AP vouchers at the airport shops. The shops are not run by Disney Guest Relations. You can purchase activated AP/PAP's there but you cannot activate vouchers.

Don't worry about activating them before going to your resort. Most times you won't even be asked for your AP. And in the off chance that you get a new CM who wants to do things "by the book" and show your AP, they will just tell you to return sometime the next day to show it to them. Checking in will not be a problem.

There is - as of now anyway ;) - no limit to the amount of time that an AP voucher can be held before exchanging it for the actual pass. You can hold it for years with no problem.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm off to the DisneyStore to get two AP's for next Dec. We're going down in Dec.'04 and then Aug.'05 so we'll be getting our monies worth!!
