We will be at SSR in late Nov.when they have their annual condo meeting. Is there any reason that we should make a point to be there? I'm not sure if it will be worth our time. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recommend that everyone attend at least one annual meeting during the course of their membership, just to make themselves familiar with what goes on. The first part of the meeting (where business is actually conducted) is scripted and planned, members may view the process, but may not comment or vote..it lasts about 15 minutes. Then the speakers will conduct a more inclusive meeting, hilighting planned resort improvements and address members concerns and comments.

Yep- as Chuck stated, it's well worth the time to attend if possible. You can go to any of the meetings- even if it's not your home resort.

The meetings are very informative and are actually kind of fun. There is good information about the resort represented by the specific meeting and also som egood information about DVC in general. The "public" portion of the meeting allows an opportunity for members in the audience to ask questions and make comment about their DVC experiences. The board members do listen to the comments, but no decisions will be made at that time regarding any suggestions.

Plan to attend if at all possible! :)

Yes, I think they're kind of fun to go to. And who knows-you might just find out some "inside info"-like I remember, 2 years ago, being at the OKW meeting, being the first to hear about the pool slide, then running out afterwards for the nearest computer to tell everyone on the DIS. So you really "need" to go! And it's always nice to meet some other owners (Hi, ChuckS!)

We went to our first last year and it was a neat expirence. I too would suggest everyone go to at least one.

We are going to be down there again this year when the condo meetings take place and are going to attend again.

Hi Simba's Mom! Yes, you often have a chance to meet other DISers there :) Mom & I sat next to Simba's Mom, started a conversation and found we were both DISers ;)

Go - the Q & A session after the formal meeting is usually entertaining as well as informative. :teeth: And sometimes, they announce things at the meeting and you are one of the first to know!

Best wishes -
