Helianthus-Best known as sunflowers. These are wonderful flowers and there is a sunflower for everyone's garden.

There are the tall varieties that we all know and love, but there are varieties that will fit into everyones garden. Sunflowers lighten up a dull corner. There only drawback is their greed is equal to the thirst. Any neighboring flower will suffer, so be carefull where you plant them.

Sunflowers like a rich soil, and of course sun. There are many varieties that range in heights some up to 100 inches. They come in different shades of yellows and reds.

I am growing a dwarf variety this year. I love these plants but hate having the really tall varieties towering over everything else. I am hoping the dwarf variety gives me the best of both worlds.
