We woke up feeling excited/yet a bit sad at the same time. Today would be our last day at Disney, we would be checking out Thursday AM & heading over to Daytona Beach for 3 nights on the Ocean (by my sister's place). We decided not to think of it as our last day & enjoy it to the fullest.
We arrived at AK at 9:30am, the crowds seemed a bit heavy walking in. We wet straight back to It's Tough To Be a Bug, and walked right in, no wait! No matter how many times I do this show, I still jump
! We went back to the Safari ride after, only a 10 minute wait. The animals were out & about, I got some beautiful pictures! My son didn't remember the bridge part & almost jumped out of his seat when it tilted
Heeheehee.
When we were walking back towards Kali River Rapids my son stopped & learned how to play the bongo drums from a man dressed in full African headress/outfit. I am actually having one of the pictures blown up of he & this man playing together...too cool! The fast pass was closed for the KRR, so we ended up standing in line for approx. 20 minutes. Not too bad. We brought our expensive ponchos,
, so no one got wet. It seemed hotter to me walking around, than it did at the other parks. Does anyone else notice this at AK? Or is it just me?
We ate at the Flame Tree BBQ for lunch, I did the meal deal for everyone. We all enjoyed using the ice cream and pop coupons later in the day, I would highly recommend it, we saved money! The salads were HUGE, yummy. DH loved the BBQ beef sandwich he ordered.
After lunch we headed over to the Dinosaur ride, one of our favorites! There was a new rollar coaster/spin ride in this area, I think it was called Triceritops Spin? I opted to wait while DH & kids went on it, it looked a little too much for my stomach (it was still recovering from the Dinosaur ride). They loved it! It was starting to rain off & on, but the kids were able to play in the play structure for awhile, until the Tarzan Rocks show. By the time we got out of Tarzan Rocks (4p), the sky was looking very dark. We were going to head over to see Lion King but it started to POUR. The kids asked if we could skip it this time & maybe head back over to Fort Wilderness Trail's End Buffet dinner again. We ended up doing this & having a wonderful dinner. By the time we got back from dinner, the rain had stopped. We threw on our suits & headed to a nearly empty pool!! The slide was closed (it was almost 9p) but we had a blast just swimming & playing "Marco, Polo". We wouldn't normally do this, but we had moved to the smaller pool & were the only ones in it. We were just getting out when the Electrical Water Pageant was going by, so we were able to see it one last time. The kids fell asleep immediately after taking showers, DH & I took turns doing a couple loads of laundry.
I was amazed at how well we had all held up doing 4 parks in a row, usually we stay 7-8 days at SOG & split the parks up. This trip we had no choice but to do them all in a row. We all decided that we would rather be tired than miss anything!
Tomorrow we are off to Daytona!
