Annoying, demanding ebay buyer using an Paypal eCheck vent

well, ebay may say that you have to send the item within 5 days after you receive payment, but technically, you haven't *received* the payment yet. I would consider it received after it shows up as funds in your paypal account. It's her own fault. She could have used a credit card or instant transfer if she wanted the item sent out right away!

Hope she won't leave you bad feedback since it's obviously her fault! Some people... :confused3

Gosh, I just feel like not even selling to her. I have this nagging feeling she'll complain and want a partial or total refund. What a bunch of crap.

Go with your intuition - take extra pictures, mark the set in some way that won't deter it from being a gift, photograph the serial number, etc.. before you package & mail it out. Just in case, you will have proof that she received the item you sent in the condition you sent it in.....

I am just curious, everyone keeps mentioning this 'policy' that Ebay has regarding shipping within 5 days of payment, I looked all over Ebay and cannot find anything that actually states when a seller must ship.

Only asking because I am wondering where that reference came from, as a seller I ship within 24 hours of payment except on weekends or holidays.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I wouldn't sell it to her. I would refund her check and cut your losses. She is going to leave you a negative, anyways--Don't you think? Her attitude is a bad one. She will find things wrong with the item.

Email her and say you are refunding her e-check, thanks anyway, Have a Great Day ;) Then block her. She sounds demanding and a tad crazy.

I have never done this, but wish I did with the last buyer I dealt with. Pure agony. I had a gut feeling the minute they won my auction, it would be trouble. And it was. I won the dispute (he was 100% wrong!), but it wasn't worth what I was put through. I haven't sold since :guilty:

Again, follow your gut feeling. I wish I would have :sad2:

There seem to be a lot of people who don't understand how checks work. I work retail and run into this, too. We have a policy where if something is paid for with a check and returned within seven days of the purchase, we issue an instore credit that they can bring back for cash seven days from the purchase. I can't even begin to tell you how many people don't get this. They say that since they're giving back the merchandise, we should give them back their money right away. Sorry. Doesn't work that way- we don't technically have the money until the check clears.

Good luck with your ebay person.

I would NOT send the item until the check cleared either. Her making this fuss makes me wonder if she doesn't have every intention of withdrawing her funds because she'd know it was mailed and/or she might even have the item. Paypal/eBay isn't telling you to not ship the item for no reason, ya know?

I'd send her a link to this thread (okay, maybe not), but I would send her a link from Paypal's site directly to educate her on echecks and I'd look around to see if eBay has anything stated directly on their site. They used to, but I'm not sure if they do anymore or not.

I would also explain that according the eBay policy that you do have to ship within what is it, 5 business days? BUT, you have NOT received payment yet, so that time has not yet begun!!!

I am sorry that you may have to take a negative feedback. You however can do the same. With her low rating, it's going to look worse for her. If she's not selling though, I don't think it will matter much. If she negs you, I would respond professionally in your reply, but I would be sure to add seller didn't understand it takes time for echecks to clear and demanded I immediately send merchandise (or something to that effect). I would also clearly state the same thing on her feedback. If she responds to it, I'd counter it on her feedback (your own too actually if it goes that far). She gets the last word on her feedback, but I'd make sure to let other sellers know by responding but being very professional about it.

I'd also suggest adding her to your blocked bidder list so this can't happen again. At least not with her current username.

There are some stores that won't even issue you a credit. They simply tell you to return your item next week after your check has cleared. People are silly, aren't they? Can you imagine the scam artists if policy wasn't set up this way?
