Annoying cat toy

dd bought kitty a new toy. It is an egg shaped wooden ball. It has a removable lid and is hollow so you can put catnip in it. My cat loves to play fetch. There are things he loves for you to throw and he brings them back. Somehow he puts this in his mouth and brings it back. The problem is it rolls under all kinds of things. Heater vents, wooden trunks, book cases, the kitchen bar. Aack. He loses it and it will be gone for weeks til someone sweeps it out from some new place.

Yeah, but then every time you find it, it's a brand new toy for them again! Our cats do that with their toys all the time; they seem to like a 2-week play and 6-week ignore cycle with their toys.
