Announcing the Teen Board Study Group! All MUST read NOW!

So, if I have a question, would I post it here, or in a new thread?

So if we know the answers to questions, we can't post the answers if we are not on the list. I could definitely help with math, I have made it through Calculus II at the college level.

Ok guys...someone on the board had probs with how the study group was being run...so there will be no list of people you can ask...just post your questions and if they get answered they get answered..if they dont..sorry..i am not posting a list of screen names so the thread will be the only place that you will be able to get help...
so ignore previous threads as that is not how the study group is allowed to be run....and if you dont get an answer questioned...i'm really sorry its not my fault..i had it all organized...
Thanks
Norah

All that work... oh well, i know who to ask if i really need the help! It seems that some people can't understand simple requests huh Norah?

Yeah Maggie....I can't say much more...i'm so pissed i may say something that has to be censored.....and someone may have to come tell me that i cant do something AGAIN!....

I can help out, in Ontario right now we are doing a new system of 4 years in high school (there are usually 5 in Ontario) anyways, i'm in the first class that will graduate in the 4th year of high school and because of this we have had VERY difficult classes! There are equivalent to 1st and second year university courses.

I would be more than willing to tutor and help out. My strengths are History, English and Law

I'm dying a slow, painful death on my maths homework, would anyone be able to help me out? I hope so, otherwise I'll be deaded at college tomorrow

I have yet to answer:

1. Differentiate ln(x+1)

2. I've got the diagram of y=e to the -2x, and I'm supposed to find the equation of the gradient graph.

If anyone could help me out, I'd be ever so ever so grateful :teeth:

I have an answer to your first question, but not the second one. I'm not exactly sure what a gradient graph is. Maybe I do, but you just use a different term for it. What math course are you taking anyway?

I love math and I understand it, but it's hard for me to explain it. I'll do the best I can though:

Differentiate ln (x+1):

You probably know that the derivative of ln x is 1/x. First you have to take the derivative of ln which is 1/(x+1). Then you have to multiply by the derivative of what's inside the parenthesis. The derivative of x+1 is 1 so you multiply by 1. So the answer is 1/(x+1).

Thankyou sooo much Dana, I think you've just saved my life :)

I'm taking A-Level maths at college, which is mostly just statistics and pure maths.

HEY GUYS! I NEED HELP! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE 4 CAUSES OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION ARE? I CANT FIND THEM AND ITS 4 AP AND ITS DUE MONDAY! AHH!

One of the causes was taxation without representation for the colonists in the English Parliment, another was the embargo on Boston which was intially a result of the boycott of the Tea Act and the cause of the Boston Tea party. The embargo was part of the Intolerable Acts as well. The meeting of the First Continental Congress got people thinking about independence as did the revolutionary group called the Sons of Liberty. Finally, the first battle at Lexington and Concord officially 'caused' the war.

I got most of this right out of my AP review book from last year...hope it helps!

hey! thanx guys! lets just see how i do...................................

OK, now This probably isnt hard for one of you, but it is for me. I have to solve this math puzzle for Algebra and i cant figure it out.

A Husband and wife want to carpet the entrance hallway in their home that is 8 feet long and 3 feet wide

8 ft.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
|~~~~~~~~|
|~~~~~~~~| 3 ft.
|~~~~~~~~|<- Thats the hallway
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

The Husband goes out to "Rugs R Us" and buys a cheap piece of carpet, but it is 12 feet long and 2 feet wide

12 ft.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
|~~~~~~~~~~~~~| 2 ft.
|~~~~~~~~~~~~~| <--- Thats the rug

How can they use the rug to carpet the hallway cutting it into only 2 pieces with none left over?

Please help me with this! I am not good at Math! IM me on QueenQt13 if you have the answer!

OK guys here it is....any help would be appreciated!!

Oil spreads on water to form a film about 100nm thick (two significant figures). How many square kilometers of ocean will be covered by the slick formed when one barrel of oil is spilled (1 barrel = 31.5 U.S. gal)?
