The DIS is pleased to announce our newest board Gay and Lesbian at Disney. This board is a place for Gay and Lesbians, their friends and families to talk about Disney and share.

Why do we need such a board? Not that I am anti Gay or anti Lesbian, but why is it neccessary to have it? Can't we all "talk about disney" and "share" on the boards that exist? Should we have a board for Hispanics, Blacks, Chinese etc.? There is no need for it. Please don't take this as an insult or lack of respect as there is none of that intended. Just questioning the need.

to me that is like asking why do we have a disability board? or any other board, on here the teen board, it was the decision of the owner, i guess it is so the people in that particular community have a place. I don't really think of it either way live and let live i say. I went over and welcomed them.

Pete Werner, the owner of these boards, decided there was a demand for the board, just as there was for other "special interest" boards such as families, disabilities, teens, and Canadians, among others.

Uh, huh, see there great minds think alike, the other thing to remember is that it is a board, there are many boards on here i go into frequently, there are some that i have never entered, because i have no desire to do so, no one is forcing anyone to go into any forum. Just something to tink about.

I don't think that is the case and certainly not the point. My point is that we move from board to board for good information. I would rather limit the amount of boards in order to consolidate all the information. Most of the boards are set up to deal with particular subjects. Now we have to go to another board to gather good information that could just as easily by distributed on another board.

Nevertheless, I respect the above views and wish the new board all the best. I guess it is one more board to visit.
