"ANNOUNCEMENTS" and "IMPORTANT" messages are getting ANNOYING

Been a poster & a lurker for 3-plus years now, and the "Announcement" and "Important" messages at the top of every thread are getting REALLY annoying. They just go on and on and on.....it anyone else being bothered by this?

Generally, I just check the date of the last post in the Announcements, etc. Anything new, I read...otherwise Iignore them. They aren't nearly as annoying on the DIS as some other forums I visit.

No.....it's not annoying to me. It just takes a "nano-second" to scroll past those that say "Important"

At times I also think that maybe I better look at them once in a while.

Of course not, but this site depends on sponsors and these posts connect the readers with the sponsors. They are very important to ensure that the sponsors of this amazing site are happy and continue to support it.

Also, they are some great deals.

Well, since I'm responsible for one of the faqs marked "important" I would have to say that it doesn' bother me.

We only have 5 stuck up there, I don't think that's all that bad. But if you truly object to these you could send an email to the webmasters and voice your disapproval. I don't know what else to suggest. Send your email to admin@wdwinfo.com. I will remove all of the "important" announcements as soon as I hear from the webmasters.

Sometimes the *important* announcements are useful to me, other times not.....I check them out now and then.....I never considered them to be annoying though....

However those *pop-up* ads that come up when you are on some other websites.....THOSE are truly annoying!

At the risk of playing devil's advocate:

They aren't annoying now but I will admit to having seen occasions in the past where there were 15-20 things stuck to the top that I thought was too many. Five is great. Twenty is not.

If you think they're annoying here, try visiting Universal's board where in one page they take up all your view when you first log in

I skip them and just scroll down, hardly noticing what they're about even. Reducing the number of "Important" notices makes them truly important and noticeable, much more so than having half a page filled with posts many people find

and ignore.
