I have read recent non-park trip reports and it has caused me to ask for some input from everyone. I am contemplating surprising my wife with a 3 day trip to WDW for our 25th wedding anniversary in March. I wasn't planning on doing the parks, opting instead to spend the ticket money on other things we wouldn't do when we have the whole family. Plus it would most likely be during Spring Break so the crowds would be a turn-off for us. Some of my ideas were:

 Golf for me but my wife has wanted to ride along and enjoy the course (LBV if they allow a rider).

 A nice dinner at one of the restaurants

 She has always wanted to do the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review

 More time at DTD (especially if the new venues at Pleasure Island are open)

 Most likely will be staying at SSR so taking some nice walks

I'll stop at those and ask what other ideas do you have that we may do during the trip? Another possibility would be to stay at HHI or Vero. If we should do one of those resorts instead, what would you suggest for there? Thanks to everyone in advance.

We leave this Sunday for our 15th anniversary. We are leaving the boys with their "Mimi". We are staying at AKV. We have no parks planned. We have several signature dining reservations, including California Grill and Narcoossee for our actual anniversary. We ordered a special cake too. We also have massages scheduled for Monday. I can't wait!
We just plan on relaxing by the pool and taking in the sights and sounds of our new "home". When we go to WDW with our 4 year old and 18 month old we are constantly on the move, so it will be nice to just relax.

We are going alone in Sept and are doing the parks but also outside the parks, dinner at spoodles then dueling piano bar Jellyrolls one night & DTD dinner & Cirque du Soleil another. Have a great trip.

 If you stay at SSR, definitely make reservations at the Turf Club. Great restaurant, nice atmosphere and close to home!!! We were very impressed.

 Though we haven't tried it yet, many talk about making reservations at California Grill in time to see the fireworks.

 Maybe try Cirque du Soleil?

 Carriage ride at SSR!!!

 Enjoy an afternoon/evening at Boardwalk or DTD (will be crowded, too, though).

 Spend an afternoon at a quiet pool. The Congress Park pool is across from DTD has a beautiful view!!!

We've gone over Spring Break, and it wasn't as bad as I had it pictured in my mind. Do plan ahead, though. Make all of your lunch/dinner reservations in advance. People were being turned away or quoted 3 hour waits when we were there. So glad my SIL has a type A personality!!! Otherwise, we wouldn't have eaten. We called MS and got all of our reservations about 4 months out.

Hope you guys have a WONDERFUL time and congratulations!!! :flower3:

My husband surprised me with a 4 day trip for our 10th anniversary and friends of ours suprised us with tickets to Hoop Dee Do Review for our actual anniversary! It was wonderful! We also had the boat back to WL (we honeymooned here) to ouselves for a moonlight cruise! Go over to the Grand Floridian and sit on the beach and watch the fireworks (u can hear the music across the lake) or walk from the TTC over to the Poly and visit the beach there. Very romantic!

Congratulations!

Yes, Your wife can ride along in the golf cart...$15.00

Disney Floral does some lovely gift baskets, I have surprised my DH on two anniversaries. They customize what you would like in the baskets. One of his was romantic and one golf themed.

California Grill is a great dinner spot - get your PS about 2 hrs. before fireworks.

Walk over by the Wedding Pavilion and pledge your love all over again.

Carriage rides are very romantic.

If you really want to go big you could rent the Grand One Yacht for Wishes!!

Enjoy... WDW is SO romantic...

For our 25th anniversary we shared a kitchen sink at B&C, so I guess we have a different idea of romantic. However, one other thing we did that was really nice was we went to the pick a pearl kiosk out front by SAB. DH picked the pearl and I picked the setting for the ring. For me, that ring is worn with my wedding ring, since a diamond engagement ring hadn't been in our budget 25+ years ago. Also, they give you the ring in a little pouch, but because of gluing, you have to wait 24 hours before wearing. After 24 hours, DH presented it to me like an engagement ring. Then, we had the kitchen sink!

We are trying to figure out which option we're going to go with for our 20th -- Eastern Cruise, Vero Beach, HHI, or what. So many options with DVC.

Whatever you do, have a great time, and Happy Anniversary!!

Cathy

Thanks for all of the great ideas. There are so many great things to do, it will be difficult to narrow it down to fit our stay!

Truly not meaning to sound snarky, but I can help you narrow it down... forget the golf. Save it for a non anniversary trip. JMHO ;)

No problem and I can even agree with that! It was actually my wife's comment just a couple of weeks ago when we stayed at OKW and SSR. She wanted me to golf so she could ride along and enjoy seeing the resorts from the course! I used to be a scratch golfer but now only get out a couple of times per year so I am afraid of embarassing myself at WDW!:scared: Thanks!

I was almost going to suggest this because I know I wouldn't want to ride around for our anniversary trip:-)

My wife and I went down for our 20th in January, and thoroughly enjoyed our trip!! The one thing we had thought of doing, but didn't (and now wish we had) was spend some time at the spa at Saratoga. Even just a simple massage together could have been wonderfully relaxing. Well - we missed it last time, but it's not like we'll never be back.

Wine, Chocolate, FLowers, Jewelry

Still works for me....

Maybe with a nice dinner at Narcoisse's

with a do not disturb sign wrapped in a gift box (LOL!).

Just celebrated my 20th anniversary at Narcosse's. We had an 8:30 reservation which worked out great for the fireworks. They had menus with our names on them and two glasses of champagne for us. We were staying at SSR and after dinner took the boat back to MK. Only two other passengers on the boat. It was such a great evening.

We did a trip for our 25th anniversary last Sept and we spent an evening in Celebration. We did dinner at one of the restaurants downtown and walked thru some of the shops before hand. We had after dinner drinks at the bar in the Celebration Hotel. Took a little stroll around the lake. It was a wonderful evening.

We just celebrated our 15th anniversary this past July at BWV. (kids along too..) Had a great time. I surprised DW with flowers from the disney floral company. THey did a great job. Just tell them what and when and its done. Also received a bunch of balloons and an autographed photo of Prince Charming and Cinderella wishing us a happy anniversary. Nice little touch.
Had Chef Mickey's for breakfast, then off the MK where in front of the castle, gave my wife her anniversary band. Then did Hoop Dee Doo for dinner. It was a great day filled with many memories.

So what ever you choose to do, it will be special. :flower3:

For a romantic dinner, I would choose California Grille or Victoria & Alberts.

If money is no object, book a fireworks cruise with dinner or dessert & drinks.

Vow renewal - its not cheap, but would be very nice.

Arrange for a private dinner at Grand Floridian.

Carriage rides are very nice. Take the boat from SSR, head over to Port Orleans to the horse drawn carriage ride.

At the very least, order a 25th anniversary "mini" cake for your special dinner out.

Again, if money is no object, hire Disney's VIP service for the day.
