Anniversary Magic...please share your ideas!

we are doing a trip (pretty much an annual event) to disney and we always go around our anniversary( we got married on my birthday and went to wdw for our HM). It will be 17 years this year, wanted to do something special. Booked a surprise celebration wishes cruise and ordered a cake today. Hoping to do a VR on our 20th in 2010. Taking our dds and his dad(his first trip ever) and my mom along. I am excited nad I think everyone else will be too, only I know.

We celebrate our anniversary every year. It is awesome. Tell them it is your anniversary when you make your reservations and they will have pins waiting for you. We ate our anniversary dinner this last year at California Grill and watched the MK fireworks. You can take carriage rides, long walks around the resorts and enjoy the pool. You can surprise your SO with a basket or flowers delivered. If you need ideas I use www.memoriesbysarah.com and she is great. Have fun

we went in 2001 for my parents' 19th anniversary and ate at CG, and in 2004 ate at Artist's Point, we liked AP a lot better, by then they had the personalized menus and the view and overall atmosphere was just amazing (not like the veiw from CG wasn't) but both times we stayed poly consierge and both times they gave my parents a bottle of champagne, a white chocolate minnie and mickey, and assorted chocolates. so amazing! we are going again this year for the 25th anniverary staying again poly consierge and are dining at narcoosies...we're all super excited! and we're gettimg them a specialty cake. can't wait for august to get here!!!

Check out giftsofalifetime.com. For our 10th Anniversary my DH suprised me with a scavenger hunt in the Magic Kingdom that was set up by this company. It was Tigger themed (they can make it any theme you want and do it in any park) and it took a few hours going from place to place in the park and finding little clues hidden everywhere. Eventually we ended up back at the Grand Floridian where they set up a beautiful private dinner on one of the balconies with a private butler and we were able to watch the fireworks. It was the most wonderful day, and they did a great job. :thumbsup2

We celebrated our 10th aniversary at Grand Floridian last nov. We got married at Disney and had our reception at Grand Floridian. I read about the dining experience on the board and decide to try it and I included my first ex-in-laws who have been married 40 yrs. .We also had a private butler. The food was very good and the castle cake was great. It was down by the mariana and was so quiet and romanic. Everything was timed perfect so that we were done by the time the fireworks started. The view was breath taking. The in-laws were so surprised and loved every minute of it. The cost was so worth it.It something that you will remember for the rest of your life.I'd do it again in a heartbeat.::love:

This sounds fantastic!! Can you give me an idea of the cost of this? DH would just about die if I set something like this up....!!

We're going back again in September for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary. We celebrated #20 with the free dining plan and managed to eat at all the restaurants we wanted to - I have the cutest pics of DH with Cinderella from the character dinner at the Grand Floridian and I have one with Prince Charming.

This time I plan to take everyone's advice when we go to the MK and get anniversary buttons to wear during our stay. This year we're planning a shorter stay, but buying each other Florida Resident's Seasonal Passes as gifts. More magic with Mickey!! :cloud9: Enjoy your celebration - make it a magical one!!

Subscribing for ideas...

Dh and I are going in December with our family and staying off-propery. We are planning a night out for just us (leaving the little ones with Grandma) to celebrate our 10th anniversary. In addition to trying to catch Wishes (his first time!!) we've tossed around four ideas:

1- Carriage ride through FW then dinner at CG during Wishes
2- Couples massage at GF
3- Spend the night at the GF or Poly with a view of MK
4- Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau

I've been reading A LOT of reviews on all of those and I still can't decide what we should do. :confused3 We're leaning toward #4, but I don't know that a dinner show would be very intimate. Also, dh is not a disneyholic and I'm hoping to do something with him that will spark the magic and make something say "hey, we should do this more often!!"

HI! When are you going to WDW? We're going for our 10th ANniv in Dec. also. I'm trying to make this an extra-special trip as my DH is also not a big Disney fan (He'd rather be camping in the woods - ugh) so I'm trying to "spark the magic" too. I'm actually on hold with WDW now to schedule dinner package for the Candlelight Processional....been on hold for 36 minutes. One suggestion I'd have for something romantic is the Wishes cruise - can't schedule them before 90 days so that should be sometime in Sept. for you depending on exactly when you're going. You can also have dinner delivered to the cruise boat.

We're celebrating our 25th anniversary on Sept 11th at Disney.

A while back I found this thread and got so many great ideas from it.

For our anniversary, we're going to take a carriage ride over at Port Orleans, eat at Narcoossee and then have booked a Fireworks cruise to see Wishes. The boat will be decorated with a banner & balloons and a cake baked at Grand Floridian Bakery will be delivered.

The next day we're doing a Segway Tour (DH loves riding segways at Innoventions) then we're going to Coral Reef where our menus will be personalized (thanks to Debbie and her staff) and a diver will bring a banner to surprise my husband. I've ordered special chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert.

The rest of the trip will include meals at many wonderful restaurants, an illuminations cruise, and alot of downtime so we can take it easy. This will be our first trip to Disney without DS - and I'm looking forward to being with my other Disney guy - my DH.

Anyway, I wanted the thread to be reactivated so others could be inspired the way I was.

For anyone celebrating an anniversary at disney, you couldn't pick a more magical place.

Congratulations all.

Thanks for reactivating this thread! DH and I are taking a short anniversary trip in December. I also booked the diver/menu at Coral Reef but am still thinking of different options. We're only going to Epcot and just for one full day...but I'm so excited as I haven't been to Epcot for 7 years!

We're staying at POR for our 10th Anniv. in Dec. I've also been thinking about doing a carriage ride there. Please let me know how it turns out. I hope to be able to get a Wishes Cruise also but still have a few more days before I can call in. Are balloons and a banner the decorations that you get for the $25 extra?

Yes, that's what you get for the extra $25 - which is worth it - after all how many times do you celebrate your 25th or 10th or 14th or what have you - only once! :)

I will definitely report back about the carriage ride and the cruise. :boat:

DW and I will be celebrating our 15th at WL 9/12 - 9/18. This will be our first trip without the kiddies. (DS16, DD13, DS10) :cool1:

We have ADR's at Artist Point, LeCelier, Chefs de France and a few other places.

We are planning a carriage ride, maybe a few late night walks around WL / FW

We have tickets to LeCirque, and MNSSHP ( we have to stay young after all )

We're looking for 2 spots on an Illuminations cruise. :genie:

Maybe we'll just sit on the beach and have an honest to goodness conversation without hearing MOM! DAD!

Regardless of what we have planned, we'll be in Disney! The time will be as fabulous as we make it!

Another photograph option is thru Disney Photography Services. They will take pics of you at one park. It's about $300 (a little less than going with an outside photographer).
It's considered a honeymoon session.

We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next month at the GF. We have a dinner set for V&A -- can't wait. I'm considering the photograph session and the couples massage.

I'm envious that you're going to Le Cirque, every year we plan to go and then time gets away. And we'll be at MNSSHP on the 14th too. :cool1:

As for finding seats on the Illuminations cruise, have you tried here? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=560160 ? I found folks to join our cruises there. I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

Enjoy your time without the kids and happy anniversary ! :goodvibes

I just wasn't sure if you were decorating the boat yourself or purchasing the $25 decorations. I've been wondering what the purchased decorations were like.

Glad I found this thread, but I think I'm a little too late. We leave tomorrow for a 20th Anniversary trip. We just planned it last minute, 6 days ago. I think I may be too late to do many of these things, but we do have 3 nice dinners planned, Le Cellier, Narcoossee's and Hollywood Brown Derby. We are doing the Segway tour since the kids won't be with us and I am going to look into the carriage rides when we get there. Thanks for all the ideas.

Have a wonderful trip. You've made great restaurant choices. September's a great month - but then I'm partial :goodvibes

Happy Anniversary!!!

Me and my BF will be at WDW for our '2nd Anniversary'...obviously we're not married, but I still like to think it's a sign of commitment (gotta start somewhere!). Just a quick one, I want an Anniversary badge, do you think we could get away with them? Or do we really have to be married? :rotfl:
