Just back from the 10/2 WONDER

Background: our 20th anniversary (no kids) (left all 4 at home) and my cousins surprise honeymoon cruise for his bride just married on 9/27.

Day One: Never thought the work day would end. We operate our own in home day care and have kids running around all the time. My cousin and his bride should arrive around 7:00p.m. They live about and hour away from us. All the day care children leave around 5:00 p.m and we can begin the final check list. We take our youngest (DD 11) at grandmas and the other (DD 13) at her friends. Oldest DD almost 18 works most of time and DS 16 works evening hours. So we let them stay home. Besides grandma only lives a few blocks away and aunt lives about 2 miles away. Plus all of our day care parents say they will keep an eye out for party gatherings. While waiting for my cousin to arrive our oldest DD accidental puts a crack in our less then 6 month old lap top. She is very upset. We figure o well we are going on a cruise and life is to short to be mad. After trying for 30 minutes to calm her down my cousin arrives and she tells him the story of her computer accident and is upset all over again. We give big hugs and get going. We have over a 2 hour drive to Kansas City. The bride has been told that we are spending the weekend in KC and have some fun things planned. She has no idea what is planned. We even have a few surprises for my cousin.
We arrive at our very cheap hotel around 11:30 p.m My DH and I along with my cousin know that we have to be up early. We have and 8:40 a.m flight to Orlando. I think I get to sleep around 1:00. Thursday morning: DH calls my cousins room at 6:00 a.m. We made sure the night before that the bride would answer the phone the next morning. She is not happy that she has been woke up so early on her honeymoon weekend. DH tells her to get up and get ready cause we are going to a nicer hotel. One with a pool and nicer rooms. She questions us on what hotel is going to let us check in so early. As we drive towards the airport we try to distract her from all the signs. We do miss our turn into the satellite parking lot. So we end up driving right in front of the terminals. Wow we think of all the lucky people going someplace today. We head to satellite parking and pass under the parking arm. The bride says are you serious? What’s going on. So DH tells her he forgot to tell her that we have to fly to our next hotel. She looks at the groom and tells him he isn’t really serious. The bride doesn’t like flying. The groom tells her yes we are flying to our next hotel. She is in shock all the way to the terminal.
There are no signs at SWA saying were our flight is headed and I wonder how much longer we can keep the secret. An agent takes our id and continues on checking our luggage. The bride and groom are right next to us and the agent takes their id and says KC to Orlando today. The brides face goes white and the groom says she didn’t know until right now. We just got married and this is our honeymoon trip. The agent apologizes over and over. The timing was perfect. We had thought the bride would see a sign but having the agent read off our final destination was GREAT. The agent still feels bad for some reason but we keep telling her it’s fine not to worry. We couldn’t have planned it any better. We board the plane and after everyone is seated a voice comes over the speaker asking for (the grooms name and the brides name). After they have raised their hands the voice asks everyone to please congratulate the bride & groom. Both of their faces are very red. Then the flight attendant hands them a bottle of champagne. WOW. The day has really started of great. The direct flight was perfect. The best take off and landing we have ever had.
After landing in Orlando around noon we head towards the luggage pick up. DH and I had arranged for a stretch limo to pick us up for the ride to the port. As we go down the escalators I see a sign with our names on it BUT it is with the WRONG company. YIKES. We had tried to make reservations with Best Way but I could never get them to answer emails so I was worried they might not show up. We had changed to Cartier. They I lost count on how many emails I sent them and they answered right away every time. So we are trying to avoid the best way guy until we can talk to our Cartier driver. The groom sees the sign with our names and says hey look at that. He has our names on that sign. So I have to go up and explain the whole thing in front of the bride of groom. Our Cartier driver Julio comes forward and helps us with our luggage and we are on our way. All is well and the surprise still worked out. The limo is a white stretch. None of us have ever been in a limo. The bride and I almost cry. Julio calls the groom over to the limo and hands him a bouquet of flowers for him to give to the bride. What a nice surprise. Then he hands another bouquet to my DH to give to me!!!! The bride and I do cry. The bride still has no idea where we are going for the weekend. As we head to the port we open a bottle of wine we brought along to celebrate. I put in a special c/d. At a certain point in the c/d the groom hands the bride the documents and she now knows we are going on the 3 day cruise. She think it is a joke and questions all of us. She starts to cry again and so do I. They still don’t know about the best surprise of all. We had reserved gty cat 11 rooms and had been told we would be lucky if we had rooms on the same floor let alone next door to each other. DH already knew we had a bunch of pixie dust sprinkles on us. We had BOTH been upgraded to cat 9's on deck 2. At first we were not sure if we would like this room or not. We tell the bride and groom of our upgrades and they are both surprised. After we get to the port around 1:00 Julio stops so we can take pictures. We thank him for such wonderful service and the flowers. Off we go to check in. The bride and groom still need to fill out their documents. We have sailed before and I notice that the castaway line is very short and the regular line is very long. I ask one of the DCL helpers if we get to use the castaway line because we are return cruisers. She looks at me like I am crazy and tells me the regular line moves just as fast as the return cruiser line does. I can tell this is not the case. When we are all done we decide to head over to the castaway line anyway. There is no one in line by this time. An agent is yelling down to the next person in the regular line twice and then a third time with no answer. She looks at us and smiles and says come on over. We jump at the chance. We had asked our TA at DREAMS to note that we would be celebrating and really wanted our own table or at least one with no kids ( hey we had left ours at home). The DCL agent congrats the four of us and off we go. So glad we went to the castaway line.

What a wonderful story! The anticipation :scratchin in the beginning was KILLING ME! I was dying to know when and how the bride :bride: would find out and what she would say. I am really enjoying your report and hope you post more soon!
