Epcot day - 1/7

Today we decided to take a break from character breakfasts and try Boatwright's for breakfast. Because I tend to plan a lot (understatement), I had made a PS for Boatwright's. We showed up and it was empty, they didn't even ask, they just led us to a table. So PS's early morning at Boatwright's in Jan. are probably unnecessary - lol! I don't know if Boatwright's banana stuffed French toast is anything like Tonga toast, but it was very very very good:D We were also served very quickly, I think from start to finish it took less than a half hour!

With that said, we reached Epcot still within the EE time. We headed for Mission: Space having previously taken our dramamine, and got fast passes. We hoped our stomachs would have settled from breakfast by then... I thought that since Test Track's line only said 15 min. that we'd just wait in line. Big mistake. We didn't move in 15 min., so we headed to guest relations to ask whether the Beast would be around today. The Beast was our #1 must-do today for DH. When we asked we were told that they won't know about WS character appearances until after 12, so we had to wait until later to find out.

We waited until we could get another FP for Test Track and braved Mission Space. We were both pleasantly surprised not to get sick, we barely felt funny after it was over:D We liked it, but not enough to ride it again this trip. I thought it was funny that they warned you about 5000 times about getting sick/claustrophobia/etc. Okay, enough, we get it already!! After this we went to Universe of Energy. This was the perfect ride for after MS - slow, relaxing, long, just enough to get completely back to normal. Then it was off to Test Track, where this one woman who was a single-rider cut in front of about 6 families behind us, then cut DH off. I planted myself, feet hips-width apart, and stood like a rock until DH walked around her. I know she was only 1 person, but it's the priniple of the thing... Uggh, another people-disliking moment. We headed out through "yet another convenient gift shop" as DH said. Thankfully we are both immune and walk right through, but it must be tough when you've got kids!!!!!!!

After this we went to ice station cool, and although I *know* at some point that I told DH about Beverly, he didn't remember. I told him that I'd heard it was really something and he should try it. He did. Priceless ;) Then we visited my manatee friends and got to see the dolphins. It looked like dolphins-in-depth was going on at that time, so that was neat to see. We did a few more things in FW and headed for our PS in Mexico.

Lunch was very relaxing, we like the atmosphere of San Angel very much. Too bad we don't like the food as much... Our waitress forgot to include her tip on our bill, luckily we saw it and tipped her ourselves. We mentioned it to her, but she couldn't fix it and told us not to worry about it. Like we wouldn't leave her a tip?! Usually we tipped extra anyway, so it didn't matter much to us. So if you're on a plan, make sure the server remembered to include their tip...

We worked our way around WS until we got to France, where guess who was waiting? YAY!!!! Until I saw the CM at the back of the line - I knew that meant that the Beast was ready to go on break:( So we asked when he would be back and got 2 times later in the day. We are so bad in Epcot. We both know there is a lot to do, and I copied down a bunch of tips from this board, but we can never manage to spend the whole afternoon or evening looking around... Next time we are going to do the tour for WS so we actually appreciate everything!!

We were dying to go on TOT and RnR however, so we caught the boat to MGM. This was our first time on the friendship boats, we both enjoyed the ride. It kind of made the map of that area clearer in my head for some reason, and I understood the layout better. Before it was like those maps with the dragons at the edges because they didn't know what was beyond that point - that was me and Int'l gateway - lol!! We got to ride our favorites, then waited for the boat back to Epcot to catch the Beast. While waiting, I decided to throw some $ away and feed the ducks. Which meant that pretty soon about 15 people were throwing their $ away feeding ducks. Pretty entertaining!

We were just in time for the Beast, so DH's dream of meeting the Beast turned into a reality. Did I mention that the one picture of him and the Beast turned out blurry? I felt soooooo bad, but DH likes it anyway. Belle was there too and they were in that little room behind the shop. It was kind of funny because the CM took a picture of the 4 of us, and I asked for one of DH and the Beast. Belle asked "would you like me in the picture?" I felt kind of mean when I said no!!

We headed to Leave a Legacy to find our tile from last year, and get our new picture. The picture was taken with no problem, however we did have a problem finding our old one. Okay, over the past year we've received the little picture and directions in the mail twice. One was on the east side, one was one the west - the same exact picture. I figured they moved it. The CM looking it up gave us the 2 locations and I thought it said "not mounted" next to them, but wasn't sure. So we tried to find both - those coordinates don't exist. We didn't have too hard a time reading it, and found someone to help, but the #'s and letters weren't there! We didn't want to bother the original CM again - she was from France (I think) and was doing a great job, but seemed to have a little trouble understanding what we wanted and I didn't want to stress her out - it was pretty busy at that point. We were going to go back and look another day, but it's in Epcot, and we don't like Epcot that much (bad us!!!) so we never took the time to look:( Next year...

After all of that we rode Spaceship Earth and relaxed - I hope the rumours about it maybe closing/being replaced aren't true. I rode that when I was 5, they can't change it!!! Then it was off to Coral Reef for dinner. This falls into the same category as San Angel, we love the atmosphere, the food is so-so. However it *does* have the chocolate wave, and that is worth going back for;) DH was hysterical because he ordered the tuna 3-ways without realizing it was sushi.... He barely ate any of it and it's the one thing I've seen him order and barely touch.

Tonight was very cold; I broke down and bought a sweatshirt (and already had a sweater/jacket on), DH refused to spend $30 on sweatpants so he froze. You'd figure we spent the $ on the package, what's another $30? We're cheap - lol. At least one of us is:rolleyes: Good thing too or we'd never be able to go anywhere... We could've left, but we had our preferred viewing of Illuminations that night, so DH suffered through it. We like Illuminations, but we like it a lot more when it's warm!!

This was the only night we didn't have to do the whole switching buses at DD, so we enjoyed only 1 bus ride. I wanted to go in the hot-tub again, but it was so far from our room and we were tired so we sacked out. We should've gone!!!!! We didn't get there the rest of the trip. Oh well, next time...

What a great day! January weather can be tricky though. Last year I just layered and layered. It seemed to help though I wished I had brought a jacket.

Don't you wonder how much those ducks would be worth if you could get all the money folks spend on food for them
