We will be staying at the Grand Floridian in February, and are thinking of having a nice (kid-free!) dinner out one night to celebrate our anniversary. Our kid will be at the Mouseketeer Club, so my husband's healthy paranoia demands we stay at the resort for our meal. Since I haven't yet convinced him that a $400 dinner at V&A's is a good idea (though I'm working on it...), my choices are down to Citricos and Narcoossee's. So. Which would you pick...and why?

Thanks!

P.S. We won't be on a meal plan, if that makes a difference.

Depends.....

If you like seafood, then go Narcoossee.

If you want a well rounded menu... Citricos

My family loves Citricos. We eat there every year on our trip.

My personal choice would be Narcoossee's. Both restaurants have great food, but I think Narcoossee's location right on the water is far more romantic.

I think that Citricos has the better executed menu and a more special atmosphere. Narcoossee's is too casual for a signature restaurant, IMO.

We have eaten at both places for our anniv. and both servers were aware of our anniv.

At Narcoossees we were seated up by the bar next to a table with an active toddler, about as unromantic as you could get. We tried to see wishes from our table, no way. We honestly didnt want to leave the meal and go out on the deck.

At Citricos, our waiter was just outstanding. The food was great and the toddler who was crawling around on the floor next to us had the manager come over and ask his parents how their day was gong. Umm, they left shortly after that.

While the water is the draw at Narcoosses and the fireworks, if you time it right, the food was just so so.

We are going back in May to Citricos for our anniv. again.

We've done both and would give the edge to Citrico's because its a bit more elegant, and (at least when we went) tends to have a more adult clientele.

We've done both many times and Citricos has beat Narcoosees every time. The only superiority Narcoosees has is the location of the restaurant on the water. The food, plating, service, ambiance, etc are all superior at Citricos.

I really hate seafood but i love Narcoossees.
Only been there about 4 times but each was great.

We went to Narcoossee's for our anniversary. They seated us over an hour after our reservation time, DS fell asleep in my arms while we were waiting, so he slept through the entire dinner, in my arms, I couldn't wake him up. Not a single apology from the staff, just lots of excuses, and not even an acknowledgement of our anniversary. I, personally, will never go back there again. The food was mediocre, well ours was, and the staff was rude. I'd pass on them, but that's just my opinion.

Congrats on booking Citricos! You're in for a great meal. :) Make sure to note the anniversary on the ADR because they are really wonderful about helping to celebrate special occasions at Citricos.

Similar story here. We had the worst service at any signature restaurant during our last meal at Narcoossee's. Our server never said happy birthday to my mom (it was noted on the reservation), even while he was showering the table next to us with 3 free appetizers and 2 free desserts (we could overhear everything). No water refills from him (and after eating a spicy appetizer, I was really, really thirsty). The food was fine, but Narcoossee's has rather simple food for the prices it charges (and it's not like all the ingredients are high quality enough to justify it), and service wasn't even near adequate.

Citricos, on the other hand, has some of the best service I've had at a Disney restaurant. The Mediterranean-inspired food is relatively upscale and very tasty, even if it's not the most creative menu. The restaurant isn't overly noisy like California Grill or Flying Fish, and there's some nice Mediterranean background music.
