My wife and I will be spending our anniversary in Disney this October and I need help. We have always gone with the kids so I don't know much about nice adult dining. I tried for the chefs table at Victoria and Alberts but I was too late. I would like something special to go the the Cirque tickets I got. Any suggestions?

Ok, a couple of more grown up options. Spoodles on the boardwalk, Citricos at the Grand Floridian, Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, and California Grill at the top of the Contemporary.

Keep trying constantly to get a seat at Victoria and Albert's, you never know what will open up.

There are quite a few nice rest. at DTD. If you like seafood try Fulton's or if you like Italian try Portobello Yacht Club, Wolfgang Pucks, or if you don't mind traveling from a resort try Calif. Grill, or if you really wanted V&A why not just a regular table and not the chefs table! Or maybe try for the chef's table another night.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have eaten at Fultons and thought the service was much better than the food. How are the others? We both don't like "tall food", I am just going for a nice elegant dining experience. At V & A the chefs table is a 6 month ps and the the regular table is 90 days, so I have to make my mind today.

I'll second the vote for California Grill. Hard to find more romance than watching Wishes before or after a memorable meal. Sometimes all the kids can spoil the mood, though.

For shear elegance and some peace and quiet, try Jiko at AKL or Artist Point at the WL. No tall food at either place.

As someone who has dined at V&A five times (three of them at the Chef's Table) I would suggest a regular reservation at V&A as being more romantic. The Chef's table is in an alcove off the kitchen and very brightly lit. I would only suggest the Chef's Table if one of you were into doing gourmet cooking, my late wife (who loved elegant cooking) said of our first trip it was the best cooking lesson she ever had.

Can you see Wishes from the California Grill? Thanks for the tip on V&A.

We ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse on our last anniversary and it was so good we are going back again this year. :cool1:

We're going to Disney for our anniversary in April and eating at Artist Point (DH's second choice after B&C-he's such a romantic!)

Yes, you can from many of the tables. You can also walk out outside on catwalks and watch which is what many people do. Our favorite area of CG is the "wine room" which is more quiet and intimate than the rest of the restaurant. It faces away from the MK though so if you are there during Wishes you would need to go outside.

But I second V&A in the dining room if you can't get the Chef's Table. You could book a regular table and then ask the Polynesian concierge to watch for a Chef's Table cancellation. I would also ask V&A to note on your reservation that you would like the Chef's Table if it opens up. We dined at the Chefs Table for our anniversary one year but I agree with Cheshire Figment that the atmosphere of the dining room is more romantic. Both are very special experiences.

We love Artist Point...that's our "grown up" choice when we ditch the kids for the night!! The food is very good, atmosphere is nice and service is very attentive!

I echo those who have suggested Artist Point. The dining experience has been superb the two times we've eaten there, from the preparation, to the presentation, to the service, and the wine list. Best of all, we've loved the ambience there. I'd suggest a slightly later ADR since that will remove most kids from the equation, though there aren't usually too many in AP to begin with due to the overall cost and its reputation as an upscale restaurant.

You can request a table by the large windows which look toward the water. After a romantic meal, take a stroll by the geyser and then around to the Hidden Springs pool over by the Villas. Or stroll down to the dock and beach areas to catch the Electric Water Pageant. There is a nature trail that winds toward Ft Wilderness and roughly follows the shoreline of the lake for the first quarter mile or so--makes for a lovely hand-in-hand walk. The very nature of WL makes it seem quieter and more serene than the other resorts, which might be a nice touch before heading off to the hustle and bustle of DTD. Good luck choosing! :earsboy:
