Annette's or Walt's?

We're going in 2.5 weeks and I'm trying to decide where to eat. It's during the school holidays so I want to book. We'll be there for 3 days and I've got the plus meal plan. The boys are 2 and 4.

I definitely want to do lunch in Café Mickey on either the Sunday or the Monday, and when we arrive on Saturday I'm planning Rainforest Café for the evening.

I want to do another nice lunch, I think, rather than dinner. Do people prefer Annette's or Walt's? I've read some mixed reviews of Walt's and it's put me off a bit... And are both of those better than Blue Lagoon? I'm tempted by that just for the location.

Thanks :goodvibes

it really depends on what your family likes.

I've been taking my DD to DLP for 7 years, we've done Annettes, Walts and Blue Lagoon. The only one she ever asks to go back to (and which we do, often) is Annettes. She loves the 50s diner theme, likes the choices on the menus etc.

I love the atmosphere and setting of both Walts and the Blue Lagoon, and for adults I think the food is great in both (and of course, you can book a table in both of those, which you can't do for Annettes). But I have to say, the ambience in both Walts and Blue Lagoon is lost on my DD.

It's so difficult, there are too many options!

I'm wondering now if we shouldn't share a pizza or two at Café Mickey, and then use the plus vouchers to do Annette's *and* Walt's... I really just want to do CM for the characters.

yes, i'd get pizza to share at cafe mickey, use your plus vouchers at their face value in both cafe mickey and annettes, then do Walts as well with a full set of plus vouchers :).

Are there characters at lunch and dinner at CM do you know? I did lunch last time, and can't remember at all about the evening!

I think Annette's too is great. My kids always want to eat there and loved it when they were younger.

Walts is a bit more grown up, but again I've been when he kids were younger too - they liked it, but I think they preferred the more relaxed feel in Annette's. Both are on our list this time :thumbsup2

yes, there are characters at both lunch and dinner at CM - they come out for dinner service at just after 6pm, and stay until very late (ie after 10pm).

Brilliant, thank you! We might do that instead of RFC then...

Just to add you cant make advance reservations for RFC or Annettes but you can turn up at RFC to make reservations for that or the following couple of days.
I like Annettes, especially when the waitresses are on skates, my DD thinks its what she wants to do when she grows up lol!

Actually you can't, you can't make a reservation for RFC at all.
Maybe you've just been lucky in the past, but they don't take reservations.
Not even if it is for that same day.

I believe you can call RFC direct on 0033 160436565 and book a table now, a few days in advance of your visit.

Thats odd because they let us walk up and book twice!
They had time sheets at the restaurant desk and everything. We have been lucky enough most times we've eaten there in that it wasnt awful busy so even if they ignored the sheets we would have been seated straight away no problem.

We have also managed to reserve RFC in advance, but dont forget that you can not use half board vouchers there

When did this change?? We have always walked up in the morning and booked for later in the day or the evening.
