Anna & Elsa - New M & G Opportunity

My dd and I are watching frozen now. I hope that this will be true in Dec. when we go. I don't want to wait hours in line to meet them. Luckily my 2 dd's are 10 and 14 so it isn't a must do.

I just booked a resie for 60 days out- hopefully the rumor will be true:-) we're trying breakfast this time- did the lunch last year which was nice but we were not planning to go back. We can't eat gluten and I hope there are some options- we are very well at the lunch!

Just curious. Why did you hate Ariel's? We currently have reservations for our visit next month but are considering cancelling them and just doing the Princess Meet & Greet at Fantasy Faire because of the negative reviews of food, price, and short interactions I've read.

I hated Ariels, because I asked to be seated out of the sun……. let me add that the place was 80% empty when we arrived. So they sat us in the sun anyway. We asked to be moved. They moved us to a table that became sunny, within 15 minutes. They refused to give us a shaded table….. (yes, we should have requested inside seating when I booked it, I was unfamiliar with the sun factor there). I was POed because if they work there, they know the sun will hit the second area quickly at that time of day, too. And the place was fairly empty; and others were sitting in the shaded area.

And the food, eh, not my style. Others may love it, of course. Edited to say, this was for dinner, a World of Color thing.

Just curious about the M&G line. What time do people start lining up there and what time do they open the M&G? Basically how long do the people who are first in line end up actually waiting before seeing Elsa and Anna?

Hmm...sounds interesting. If this is happening when we go in March, I might just break down and book a meal at Ariel's. My daughter's fave princesses are Ariel and A&E.

I don't tend to prefer meeting characters at meals.
- I just don't like the background of dirty tables and other people. I much prefer the pretty backgrounds you get at a M&G. The photos are better staged. - Since I use my smartphone camera and not a fancy DSLR, lighting in restaurants is also often bad while at M&Gs, the lighting is usually decent.
- if I get Photopass, the M&Gs typically have photopass photographers (at least they do at WDW!) while they are not there at character meals.

we went to Ariels two years ago for lunch and loved it!

They just started meeting during EE. Their non-EE M&G starts at opening now. Someone there for EE arrived at park 20 min before EE, got in park, walked to Hub, was walked to FL at start of EE and was done 45 minutes later. For non-EE days it seems guests are arriving 60 min before RD to be first in line at Hub, where they're walked back to FL in a line for M&G to see them in first 15 minutes, so the total time then is about 75 minutes. They seem to be changing things a lot lately.

am i the only one how actually likes the fact that the Anna and Elsa meet and greet is 2+ hours long???

Oh my. My son wants to meet all the princesses and really wants to meet Anna and Elsa. DH and I have been debating the merits of splurging for a second character meal and doing lunch to escape the heat (and knowing the meal should be accommodated for DS's food allergy is a bonus). So if this does happen, it may be the push for us to do the second character meal for him.

Is this because everyone else is in line for the MG and you get to get on the rides? Because I like that idea too.

I haven't been back for a character breakfast at AG since my original post...the CM/server did say sometime in August, but wasn't more specific than that.

We need someone who's been there recently to tell us! Although I'm sure if had happened already, someone would have gotten on the DIS and told us all out of sheer excitement. :)

I'm going on the 22nd with some friends...I can cruise by AG and ask the receptionist if they've ben made a part of it yet. But that's still a couple weeks away.

I just called disney dining out of curiosity for this and they said it is happening, but it isn't confirmed when it will happen and they aren't sure if both of them will be there or just one of them alternating.

ooohhh i really hope it happens before my trip! i am going in september!

:tigger:

Ack! My ADR is for this Monday. What to do.. what to do...
We really don't enjoy spending early hours at breakfast as we'd prefer to be on rides but if there is a chance DD4 would meet one or both sisters is so tempting - but I sure wish someone would have posted if it happened. I guess I'll be watching this thread until Sat night (I'm assuming I have to cancel by late Sat or by park opening Sun AM to beat the 1 day notice cancellation policy).

Fingers crossed it is in place before Sept 11! Would make Dd's birthday lunch extra exciting for her

That's interesting because I called to make reservations for September this week and when talking about what characters are possibly at Ariel's Grotto the CM laughed at the thought of Frozen princesses and say no way that would ever happen.

We have res at Ariels for one of the days.....it would be awesome if they are there, but I will wait if I have to for my daughter to see them while we are there. My wife can always have the kids at the pool while I wait or something as we are staying at DLH:confused3
