Anna & Elsa Hit The 4 Hour Mark Today

I'm going to DL this weekend and was checking wait times today and the A&E meet at DL was 120 minutes, I thought that was crazy, 4 hours (at WDW) is insane.

Part of me thinks the parents waiting in these lines are nuts and part of me really respects a parent willing to endure a 4 hour wait to make their kids happy.

Especially since they have a character meal ready and waiting right in their "home" country. Take Belle out from front of Askerhus, put A&E in the place and watch the reservations for that meal surpass BOG in how hard it is to get. Crazy they didn't figure that out

I was just thinking about this. Move Belle to BOG and put Anna and Elsa at Akershus. That would become a very desired ADR at that point. I'll be getting an ADR for Akershus & a FP for A&E regardless. Maybe by November they will make this change.

120 minutes is only 2 hours. But still, yeah, that's kinda insane.

Given the current setup, the line should have cut the wait in half. I wonder if they have ever had an 8 hour wait???

We were there from Dec. 29th to Jan. 6th and I thought I heard some say that the lines crept very close to the 8 hr mark.

What one person looks forward to and enjoys another person sees as wasteful. I can't imagine what anyone sees in Space Mountain or the Astro Orbiter, but what does it matter to me?

Does the "be there at rope drop and run like heck" strategy still work? Because I'll be solo on this trip and I want to get my picture done with as many characters as possible (I mean, since I've got the Memory Maker, why not?), and of course no FP are available.

They did release some additional FPs. Did you check?

It's crazy to me that people are willing to waste an extremely expensive day in the parks to wait to meet a couple of college students dressed in somewhat tacky costumes and bad wigs. I've seen some YouTube footage which is supposed to show how "in character" they are and it actually had me cringing in embarrassment. Sheer insanity.

Try explaining this to my three year old....

Now the groups of all adults, I hear you. We witnessed a lady in her mid 40's who almost wept while meeting Aladdin and took about 10 mins to get numerous pictures, autographs and explain her life story. These types left my husband speechless, except for saying "do they know they aren't cartoons?" ;)

Does anyone know if there are any FP's that they are holding for day of for Anna and Elsa? If I can't get my Fastpasses in advance am I completely out of luck?

Also, does anyone know the wait if you you do rope drop (assuming I'm not willing to trample people to get there)?

Elsa isn't suppose to be. She spent her life locked up in her room. She's socially backwards and shy. She's now free to be out but that doesn't change the years behind her. I'm laughing at myself for even saying all that like it matters....lol.

I am laughing at your post too, cuz that is what I was thinking! :) But it SO totally matters, right?!?!?! LOL!

Bingo.

I sobbed like a baby when I met the Beast (my absolute favourite character from everything ever since I was a child) on my Honeymoon. The most I could squeak out was, "I'm so happy," to him in between bouts of ugly-crying.

I can't speak for everyone, only for myself. In my case it was a combination of it being my first day in Disney World in over a decade and a half and being just completely doped up on Disney Magic (I think being in Disney World might release Endorphins? Surely there must be a study on that...), and this weird suspension of disbelief. Yes, that is some guy in a suit. He isn't the character- but at the same time he is. He is Disney putting the Beast in his castle and letting people meet him. I don't really know how to explain it better.

I was much more collected the second time I met him. Maybe that lady just really loved Aladdin and was absolutely stoked to meet "him."

OMG!!! We witnessed nearly the same thing except it was for a line with Genie. We hadn't been waiting long, maybe 15 minutes, and the Beast had to be swapped out (er, take a break).

My kids were fine with that, the other kids in line were fine with that. But the 40+ something woman who would have been next in line wailed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! But Genie, it's me!!! It's me!!!!!" (Um, was he supposed to know her?)

She grabbed onto him whole sobbing and dropping to her knees as we all (children included) sat there with our jaws to the floor.

Her husband was kind of dumbfounded  and tried to control her but she was out of control. Granted, this was in Epcot, and maybe she had had a few too many but wow, what a scene!!!:rotfl2:

We still joke about that to this day and randomly yell out "But Genie, it's meeeeeeeeee!!!!!" :lmao:

Totally agree. I saw a picture of a friend's daughter with them. Elsa looked like a college girl who had been out partying all night. Her make up and hair were so tacky. Thankfully I have boys so I don't have to worry about this issue when we go next week. :-)

I have seen some really bad Elsa's in pictures posted here in the boards. Does anyone else think that the one could almost pass for a man? Lol

Sorry that's off topic... But when I was at MK on Tuesday and the line at one point was only 90 mins...

Hahaha wow. That's a great story!

It's just as crazy as the "Frozen Parents" about the merchandise. I seriously think Frozen has made people lose any and all sensibility or ability to reason and think logically.

I managed to get a FP+ this morning for May 28th :-)

My friend is there as we speak. She just texted me a picture of the wait time on the sign... it is at 300 minutes ALREADY! Park just opened at 8am, it's not even 9 yet! That is insane! She was unable to get a fp for this so I don't know what she's going to do. :worried:
