I am watching my first episode. I was really looking forward to this show but I am irritated 5 minutes into it. They are making desserts and decide to compare saucepans. They compared several different saucepans from 17.00 to over 150.00. They didn't give the results except to say that it was a squeeker but the All clad was the winner. The All Clad was the really expensive one. it makes it look like you need the expensive one. If there were others that were very close to that they should have said it.

I also find them irritating not really sure why.

I remember reading years ago that pots and pans are one of the FEW things that are BETTER the more you pay for them. Don't know if that's still the case, I haven't bought pots or pans in eons!

I liked the show. They used to be The Shopping Bags, which I loved watching. They were kind of dorky but totally real back then. Now they're a little less dorky but still totally real.

I looked up the saucepans article from the dessert episode. From the test comments, looks like the Cuisinart they tested ($39) was a good runner up, but I agree with Robinrs: spend money on good quality pots and pans and you'll have them for life. Also, in their final pick, they say to watch for sales. I don't know if I'll buy All Clad, but if I see some on sale, I'll definitely think about it!
