I was just wondering if there is an equivalent restaurant in WDW to Animators Palate on DCL. It seems like such a Disney thing... Was it inspired by a current restaurant or is it just for us lucky cruisers?

DCL only. because of how the cruise seatings work vs. a constant flow of guests at standard TS locations, i don't see how the show would effectively work on land. something in that vain would be great though. i don't know of any restaurants that are even animation influenced other than perhaps tony's.

the restaurant mgr. on our first cruise told us that the animator's palate was a million dollar restaurant concept, and at that time (1999) disney was trying to figure out where and how to incorporate it somewhere on land. i guess they never figured that one out.

I think it could be done in a standard restaurant set up... There is a Moroccan restaurant here in the DC area that involves a show and they do it by having set seating times for dinner. It also involves 7 courses so the times are pretty spread out. Disney could use this same idea, and if they wanted, they could use 2 seperate dining rooms with several seating times throughout the day. Dinner at Animators Palate typically goes about 90 minutes, so they could offer seatings every two hours, and stagger them betwen the two dining rooms so guests could reserve seating at any hour between say 11am-10pm. As for the cost of building 2 million dollar dining rooms... I think Disney might be able to afford it! All of this being said, I love the fact that it is a DCL exclusive. It makes the experience that much better!
