My son has ASD and anxiety and the pressure of getting his drawing “right” at Animator’s Pallet when we sit down makes it a stressful experience. Anyone have luck getting the drawing ahead of time or suggestions on this?

Knowing Disney customer service, I feel pretty confident if you asked they would make it happen. My 6 y old on the spectrum too and he wanted to go to the princess tea, and when he showed up as the only boy and got a different set of toys than the girls, he was so disappointed. Right away they whisked away the knight toys and came back with a set of princess toys for him and he was so happy! They really always go the extra mile to make everyone have a good experience.

I always notice, when you go to theme parks you can’t go a day without seeing/hearing many kids (and adults) totally melting down, but on the ships you hardly ever see that. They do such a great job giving everyone what they want—I’m definitely getting spoiled for other vacations!

I bet if you ask your dining team for the page and some markers they would give it to you the night before so your son could work on it before hand.

I thought they'd stopped doing the drawings?

As part of the COVID protocols. But, now that I think about it, maybe they've just stopped returning the drawings?

Correct. They're still doing the drawings, but you don't get your papers back at the end. So, take a good photo before you lose it forever!

I’m sure DCL would do it, I would just say make sure to follow the lines and not get the paper wet/damaged as it cannot go through their magical machine to bring it on the screen if so.

No drawings on the Wonder in November or January, both 4 day trips. Maybe they are on longer trips?

They are for 7night and longer cruises. Don't know if they have started doing them again since covid though.

We did them on our 5-night Magic. Due to this they did not do the regular AP show, which I would have preferred.

Same here. We did the drawing on my 3 night on the Wonder in October and I was surprised. I much prefer the regular Animator’s menu. No truffle pasta! :(

We were with first time DCL cruiser friends early in January. I was so happy we did the drawings on the Magic! It was a 5 night cruise. We did have the regular AP menu.

Aaaaaaah!!! She killed Mickey and is holding his severed head and heart?!?! :rotfl:
Okay so I won’t be hired by the Imaginaires to be on the animation team. Just so you know that was a Mickey purse! And then when the first one didn’t turn out I put it in the other hand. But I honest to God did laugh out loud when I read your description. Absolutely did look(I can’t stop laughing) like a decapitated Mickey! I swear I was trying to make a purse!

I was sure it had to be something like a purse or mickey ice cream, but when the thought crossed my mind that it could be a head it made me laugh so hard I couldn’t resist!
