Anamation tour at MGM has been revamped. The studio no longer a working studio and they offer a 10 minute "lesson " on how to draw a Disney character. It was okay but about 5 years ago they had a much better "lesson" available for free in the area outside Anamation. Does anyone remember that? They gave you a flip book, folder with info and taught you how to draw Goofy. It took about 30 min and there were many different artiists doing the teaching. Supposedly they will be taking the old studio area and make some sort of inter active exhibit in the fall but I am not hoping for much.

I still miss the old movie with Walter and Robin. :(

Yes, the entire Animation Studio is being converted into another version of the Animation Building in DCA in Disneyland Resort.

Most of the working office space is being used by WDW executives and other support departments.

It was sad going through with all of the shades closed and nothing new to look at. And I felt bad for the presenter who had to stand up there and put a positive spin on the closing and insist that Disney is not abandoning 2D, as we can all see from their NEW movie Home on the Range!!! YAY! ;) We left before the drawing class. Too long of a wait.

The animation tour in California isn't depressing at all, and I hope they move quickly on that in Florida.

The last time I was at DisneyQuest, there was an area where an instructor taught you how to draw a Disney character. It's a lot of fun and it only took about 20 - 30 minutes. You then have the option of purchasing your drawing.

You mean De-Animation Tour. This is the most depressing thing in the World. I was disturbed that it was even open still and went through just to see why. I should have listened to myself and avoided it like the plague. The building should be boarded up. It shouldn't even have a barrier outside of it. It should just have boards on the windows and tombstones (ala Mansion) for all the great souls who passed through. It was actually kind of an eerie tour. You could almost feel the fun and creativity in there (behind the window shades that is). :sad1:
